Kathleen Benson, MD Introduce

For individuals in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the surrounding areas seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Kathleen Benson, MD, is a local cardiologist with an office located at 4432 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA. Dr. Benson can be contacted at her office phone number (702) 733-2982 or her mobile number +1 702-733-2982. When considering a healthcare provider, it is essential to gather a comprehensive understanding of their practice, including the environment, services offered, and patient experiences. The provided reviews offer contrasting perspectives on Dr. Benson's care, which potential patients should carefully consider.

As a cardiologist, Dr. Benson likely provides a range of services focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various cardiovascular diseases and conditions. These services typically include comprehensive cardiac evaluations, which involve a review of the patient's medical history, a physical examination, and the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests. Common tests in cardiology include electrocardiograms (ECGs) to assess the heart's electrical activity, echocardiograms to visualize the heart's structure and function using ultrasound, and stress tests to evaluate how the heart performs under physical exertion. Depending on the patient's symptoms and medical history, Dr. Benson may also order Holter monitoring to record heart rhythm over an extended period or blood tests to assess cholesterol levels and other cardiac risk factors. As a practicing cardiologist, Dr. Benson would also be involved in developing treatment plans, which could include lifestyle recommendations, medication management for conditions like hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and heart failure, and potentially referrals for more invasive procedures such as angioplasty or cardiac surgery when necessary.

The provided patient reviews present a stark contrast in experiences with Dr. Benson's care. One review recounts a severely negative experience, detailing a significant delay in diagnosis and a perceived lack of attention to critical symptoms. The reviewer, who ultimately moved out of state for medical care, reported being initially told there was nothing wrong despite debilitating symptoms. Subsequent diagnosis in Washington revealed severely malfunctioning heart valves (functioning at only 20%), a condition that was reportedly missed by Dr. Benson's practice. This reviewer also described excessively long wait times for appointments (1.5 to 2 hours) and instances where appointments were rescheduled due to Dr. Benson's unavailability. Furthermore, the reviewer alleged a lack of attention to severe physical symptoms, including convulsions, and attributed a subsequent diagnosis of severe low potassium (resulting from diuretics and fluid retention due to the heart condition) to the initial misdiagnosis. This review strongly advises others to avoid Dr. Benson's care, citing a "horrible experience."

In contrast, the second review offers a highly positive perspective of Dr. Benson. This patient describes her personality as "amazing," noting her kindness, caring nature, and apparent genuine interest in her work. The reviewer expresses confidence in receiving "the best service" when they do get to see her. They mention being a patient for three years for an ongoing, as-yet-undiagnosed issue and still give a five-star rating. This suggests that despite the diagnostic uncertainty, the patient values Dr. Benson's approach and bedside manner. The positive review also extends to the office staff, whom the patient describes as their "favorite staff too" because they "all seem to know what they are doing." Specific mention is made of Beatrix, who is described as "great," "kind," and "knowledgeable." This positive feedback indicates that some patients experience a caring and efficient environment at Dr. Benson's practice.

Considering these divergent reviews, it is challenging to definitively characterize the typical patient experience at Dr. Benson's office. The negative review raises serious concerns about diagnostic accuracy, attention to critical symptoms, and office efficiency, particularly regarding appointment scheduling and wait times. The positive review, on the other hand, praises Dr. Benson's personality, caring demeanor, and the competence of her staff. Potential local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should be aware of these conflicting accounts and consider them carefully when making their decision. Factors such as the complexity of their cardiac condition, their tolerance for potential wait times, and their priority for bedside manner versus diagnostic certainty might influence their choice.

The provided information does not offer any details about the environment of Dr. Benson's clinic, such as its size, amenities, or the types of equipment available. Similarly, there is no information regarding any specific features of her practice, such as specialized clinics within the office (e.g., for heart failure or arrhythmias) or any particular areas of expertise within cardiology that Dr. Benson might focus on. As with most medical practices, it can be assumed that the clinic is equipped with the necessary examination rooms and diagnostic equipment for basic cardiac assessments. However, without further information, a detailed description of the environment and specific features is not possible.

Furthermore, the provided text does not include any information about promotional offers, special programs, or community outreach initiatives associated with Dr. Benson's practice. To learn about any such programs, including new patient specials or participation in local health events, it would be necessary to directly contact her office using the provided phone numbers or visit her website, if available. Information regarding accepted insurance plans and appointment scheduling procedures can also be obtained by contacting the clinic directly.

In conclusion, Kathleen Benson, MD, is a cardiologist practicing in Las Vegas. Patient reviews present a mixed picture, with one detailing a severely negative experience involving diagnostic delays and perceived lack of attention, while another praises her personality, caring nature, and competent staff. Local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should carefully weigh these contrasting perspectives when considering Dr. Benson for their cardiac care and may wish to seek additional information or consider other options to ensure their healthcare needs are met effectively.

Doctor Benson's personality is amazing. She is kind, caring, and seems generally interested in her work. When I get to see her, I know I'm getting the best service. I have been going to see her for three now for an issue that seems to be still a mystery but that's life. As far as I am concerned, five stars. Staff at her office is my favorite staff too since they all seem to know what they are doing. Beatrix is great too, kind and knowledgeable.
