Rush Diagnostic Radiology Introduce
For individuals in Chicago and the surrounding areas whose search for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" may involve the need for diagnostic imaging to assess cardiac conditions, understanding the local radiology services available is crucial. Rush Diagnostic Radiology, located at 1725 W Harrison St UNIT 437, Chicago, IL 60612, USA, is one such facility within the Rush University Medical Center system that likely plays a significant role in providing imaging services that can aid in the diagnosis and management of various medical conditions, including those related to the heart.
As part of Rush University Medical Center, the environment of Rush Diagnostic Radiology is expected to be a professional medical setting equipped with advanced imaging technologies. Patients might encounter a facility designed to perform a range of diagnostic scans, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), X-rays, ultrasounds, and potentially nuclear medicine imaging. The integration within a major medical center suggests adherence to high standards of safety and quality in imaging procedures. Patients can likely expect a facility that prioritizes accurate and timely results to support their overall healthcare.
The services offered by Rush Diagnostic Radiology would typically encompass a wide array of diagnostic imaging procedures essential for various medical specialties, including cardiology. For patients seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," the availability of advanced cardiac imaging at a facility like Rush Diagnostic Radiology is vital. These services could include cardiac MRI to assess heart structure and function, cardiac CT angiography to visualize coronary arteries, and chest X-rays to evaluate the size and shape of the heart and lungs. The specific services offered would depend on the equipment and expertise available at this particular unit within Rush University Medical Center.
Features of a diagnostic radiology department within a major hospital system like Rush typically include a team of board-certified radiologists, experienced technologists, and support staff dedicated to providing high-quality imaging services. The use of advanced technology and adherence to strict protocols are usually hallmarks of such facilities. The integration with the electronic health record system within Rush would likely facilitate seamless communication of imaging results to referring physicians, including cardiologists, contributing to a more coordinated approach to patient care.
However, it is crucial to consider the available patient feedback regarding Rush Diagnostic Radiology. The provided reviews paint a concerning picture of significant administrative and customer service issues. One reviewer described a frustrating two-week ordeal of trying to schedule an MRI, involving multiple calls, long hold times (reportedly over 5 hours in total across five calls), and a lack of resolution despite repeated faxes and emails from their doctor's office. This experience highlights potential problems with appointment scheduling, communication, and the responsiveness of the department to patient needs and referring physician requests.
Another review mentions a disruptive last-minute rescheduling of an appointment made a year prior, coupled with poor communication and a lack of apology. This instance further raises concerns about the department's organizational efficiency and patient communication practices. The contrast between the strict cancellation policy for patients and the apparent lack of accountability for the department's changes is also a point of significant dissatisfaction for this reviewer.
These negative reviews, while representing individual experiences, suggest potential systemic issues within the scheduling and communication processes of Rush Diagnostic Radiology. For local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" who may require imaging services from this facility, it is essential to be aware of these reported challenges. While the quality of the diagnostic imaging itself is not directly addressed in these reviews, the administrative experience appears to be a significant source of frustration for these patients.
Currently, there is no positive promotional information available for Rush Diagnostic Radiology based on the provided data. The existing feedback strongly indicates areas needing improvement in terms of customer service, communication, and appointment management. For individuals considering this facility for their diagnostic imaging needs related to heart health, it would be prudent to factor in these reported experiences alongside the potential benefits of being part of a major medical center.
For local users in Chicago whose "Heart Doctor Near Me" recommends imaging at Rush Diagnostic Radiology, it may be beneficial to be proactive in the scheduling process and maintain clear communication with both the radiology department and the referring physician's office. While the medical expertise and technology available at Rush are likely of a high standard, the administrative aspects, based on the provided reviews, may require patience and persistence.
In conclusion, while Rush Diagnostic Radiology, located within a reputable medical center, likely offers a range of important diagnostic imaging services that can support cardiac care for those seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," the available patient reviews raise significant concerns about the administrative and customer service aspects of the department. Potential patients should be aware of these reported issues and may want to seek further information or consider their options carefully when scheduling necessary imaging procedures. Addressing the issues highlighted in the feedback appears crucial for Rush Diagnostic Radiology to provide a patient experience that matches the quality expected from a leading medical institution.

They called to reschedule an appointment I had made last year and didn't leave any message. When I called to find out why I had to get bounced through several people before getting any information. They weren't apologetic about the change at all, despite needing to change my work schedule and re-arranging transportation. The cherry on top was the reminder of the fee if I late cancel or no show, while they have no repercussions for canceling on me last minute.
Will absolutely overcharge you. Was given an estimate of an Ultrasound that would cost around $400-500. Rush Radiology then billed my Insurance for $2200 (As an in network provider). Insurance was willing to cover $1100 but now I am stuck paying the remaining balance of $1100 more than double what the estimate was. AVOID AT ALL COST.
