As a local heart doctor, Dr. Chelsky's practice likely focuses on providing a range of cardiovascular services to the Portland community. Typically, a cardiologist in this category would offer consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and management of various heart conditions. These services often include procedures such as electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress tests, and follow-up care for patients with heart disease. While a comprehensive list of services offered by Dr. Chelsky is not explicitly provided, it is reasonable to expect a standard array of cardiac care for those seeking a 'Heart Doctor Near Me'.

Based on a review from a patient named Dr. Debbie Thompson, a holistic chiropractor from Loveland, CO, Dr. Chelsky played a significant role in resolving her 'ventricular tachycardia' in 1992. According to the review, Dr. Chelsky, who was on call in the ER at the time, referred her to an experimental program at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Following a procedure at OHSU two days later, her ventricular tachycardia was resolved instantly, and she reportedly never had to take heart medication again. This testimonial highlights Dr. Chelsky's potential for recognizing complex cardiac issues and facilitating access to specialized care, even through referrals to other institutions when appropriate. This suggests a feature of his practice may include a willingness to collaborate with other medical centers to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

However, it is important to consider all available feedback. Another review presents a contrasting experience, stating that the reviewer, identifying as a minority, felt "vary uncomfortable" during their interaction with Dr. Chelsky. This review also alleges that Dr. Chelsky was "vary rude" and threatened to leave when two advocates were present, which the reviewer felt was "wrong and against patient rights." The review further mentions the dismissal of issues as not being a heart problem and characterizes Dr. Chelsky's behavior as that of a "privileged white bully." This feedback suggests that some patients may have concerns regarding Dr. Chelsky's bedside manner and interactions.

Given these differing accounts, it is challenging to provide a definitive description of the environment and typical patient experience at Dr. Chelsky's practice. The positive review emphasizes a life-changing referral and resolution of a serious heart condition, indicating a potential strength in diagnostic acumen and connecting patients with necessary specialized care. Conversely, the negative review raises serious concerns about interpersonal interactions and patient rights.

He was vary rude. As a minority I felt vary uncomfortable. And for him to threaten to leave because we had two advocates in was vary wrong and against patient rights. Dismissing issues and said it’s not a heart problem!! He treated us like a privileged white bully.

Dr. Chelsky, came in the room like a tornado sat down and knew exactly what was wrong with me before talking to me. He would dismiss everything that I would say. He said it was heartburn or anxiety, Nothing is wrong with me. My pain is because of my old neck injury and back injury so the shooting stabbing pain in my chest and around my heart and when I freeze up and seize, that it’s all because of my neck and my back. He also put something in my file that should not be there.

Dismissed all my symptoms and tried to convince me that I had heartburn. Stabbing pain in the chest and pain shooting down my left arm and I'm suppose to believe that is heartburn. So when I have another heart attack I won't be going to the hospital to get help.

I want to THANK Dr. Chelskey for being my mom's heart Dr. She had her Quad bypass about 24 years ago and with his supervision and medication recommendations she is still alive today at the age of 95. We are now living in Florida. No doc compares to him.
