Penn Cardiology Mayfair Introduce

For residents of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, particularly in the Mayfair area, finding accessible and reliable cardiac care is a significant aspect of maintaining overall health. Penn Cardiology Mayfair, situated at 7133 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19149, USA, operates within the platform category of "Heart Doctor Near Me," suggesting it provides services relevant to individuals seeking local cardiac expertise. This introduction aims to offer an objective overview of the environment, services, features, and any pertinent information, including patient reviews, associated with Penn Cardiology Mayfair to assist local users in making informed decisions about their heart healthcare needs.

The physical environment of Penn Cardiology Mayfair, located on Roosevelt Boulevard, likely presents a standard medical office setting. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance, waiting areas, or examination rooms are not described in the provided information, patients can generally anticipate a space designed for medical consultations and examinations related to cardiac health. The location on a major thoroughfare like Roosevelt Boulevard suggests potential accessibility for residents in the surrounding neighborhoods and those commuting to the area. For individuals searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, this location could offer convenience.

As a cardiology practice under the umbrella of Penn Medicine, Penn Cardiology Mayfair likely offers a range of services related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Typically, such a practice would provide comprehensive cardiac evaluations, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and risk factor assessments. Cardiologists at this location would likely manage various heart conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, and hypertension. They would also likely order and interpret diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and potentially refer patients for more specialized procedures or imaging studies at affiliated hospitals when necessary.

However, the provided patient reviews raise significant concerns regarding the patient experience and billing practices at Penn Cardiology Mayfair. One reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the dismissive attitude encountered, feeling "written off" due to their young age and having their concerns attributed to anxiety without thorough investigation. This raises questions about the thoroughness of initial consultations and the patient-physician interaction. The same reviewer also reported being charged twice per visit, once for tests and again for a brief consultation with the doctor, leading to a negative perception of the value of care received.

Another review highlights a significant issue regarding unexpected and substantial hospital fees. The patient reports being charged a $5,990 "hospital fee" in addition to doctor's fees and test fees, despite the visit occurring at the doctor's office in Mayfair and not within a hospital setting. The explanation given for this fee was "use of the building and equipment," which the patient found unreasonable, especially considering the separate charges for tests. This lack of transparency regarding fees and the unexpected large charge led the patient to label Penn Cardiology Mayfair as a "RIP off" and to express an intention to avoid Penn Medicine in the future, preferring the billing practices of Aria Hospital where they were only charged for tests and the doctor's visit.

Features of Penn Cardiology Mayfair, being part of the Penn Medicine network, could include access to a broader healthcare system, potentially facilitating referrals for specialized procedures or consultations within the network. Patients might expect a certain standard of medical expertise and access to advanced diagnostic technologies associated with a reputable institution like Penn Medicine. However, the negative reviews suggest that these potential benefits might be overshadowed by concerns about patient communication, perceived dismissiveness, and unexpected, substantial fees.

Promotional information is not available in the provided data. Typically, a medical practice might promote its services through its affiliation with a larger healthcare system, the expertise of its physicians, the availability of advanced technologies, or patient testimonials (though in this case, the provided testimonials are negative). Without specific promotional details, it is challenging to comment on any active marketing efforts by Penn Cardiology Mayfair. The primary information available for local users is the location and contact number, along with the concerning feedback from recent patients.

Given the serious nature of the issues raised in the patient reviews, local users considering Penn Cardiology Mayfair for their cardiac care should exercise caution and seek further clarification before scheduling appointments. It would be advisable to contact the office directly at (215) 316-5151 to inquire about their consultation process, the types of tests they perform, and, most importantly, a comprehensive breakdown of all potential fees associated with a visit, including any facility or hospital charges that might apply even for an office visit. Understanding the full cost of care and ensuring transparency in billing practices is crucial for patients to make informed decisions and avoid unexpected financial burdens.

Furthermore, potential patients might want to inquire about the qualifications and experience of the cardiologists at this specific Mayfair location. While being part of Penn Medicine might suggest a certain level of expertise, the individual experiences reported by patients highlight the importance of both clinical competence and patient-centered communication. Seeking information about the typical duration of consultations and the approach to addressing patient concerns, especially for those presenting with non-specific symptoms, could also be beneficial.

In conclusion, while Penn Cardiology Mayfair is positioned as a local option for cardiac care within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category in Philadelphia, the available patient reviews present significant concerns regarding billing transparency and patient experience. The unexpected hospital fee reported for an office visit and the feeling of being dismissed by a doctor are serious issues that potential local users should be aware of. It is strongly recommended that individuals considering this clinic contact them directly to obtain detailed information about their services, consultation procedures, and a complete breakdown of all potential costs to avoid unexpected charges and ensure a satisfactory healthcare experience. Exploring other cardiology options in the Philadelphia area might also be prudent given the feedback received.

Went here a couple months ago because my PCP recommended them. Needless to say, I will not go back. Was written off because I'm young and it's probably just anxiety. Then I was charged twice per visit. Once for the tests, which I was fine with and then again to see the doctor who would literally spend two minutes with me. Go somewhere else if you can.
