The provided reviews from individuals who have received care at the Heart Care Centers of Illinois in Palos Park raise significant concerns about the quality of care, communication, and follow-up provided by this practice. One patient describes the care received as "down right lazy," citing a very brief office visit where medication was prescribed without a thorough investigation of their concerns. This patient, who had recently had a stent installed, reported experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath but was simply advised to go to the ER. Following an overnight hospital stay and a visit from a doctor (referred to as "one of the Stella's"), the patient was discharged with no clear diagnosis and only a mention of "further testing."
This same patient expressed significant dissatisfaction with the lack of a systematic plan to determine the cause of their symptoms, contrasting it with the approach of a new cardiologist who, upon consultation, developed a collaborative plan leading to the discovery of a 98/99% closed stent. The patient explicitly blames the "doctor group" for neglecting proper care and failing to identify the critical issue in a timely manner, expressing gratitude for leaving what they termed a "meat market of a practice." This review strongly suggests concerns about rushed appointments, a lack of thorough investigation, and a failure to address the patient's specific needs effectively.
The second review echoes concerns about the lack of follow-up and poor communication. This reviewer states that "nothing got done" unless they followed up multiple times regarding their husband's test results and appointments. Promised follow-up calls were frequently missed, and the receptionist was described as "rude" over the phone, necessitating an in-person visit to obtain necessary information. The reviewer also recounts an instance where a test was ultimately canceled due to the cardiologist's failure to return a call regarding insurance authorization and the necessity of the test, despite a nurse's promise. This healthcare worker describes the experience as "terrible communication and total lack of care" and reports seeking a second opinion at another medical center.
Based on these direct patient experiences, the features of Heart Care Centers of Illinois in Palos Park, as perceived by these reviewers, include a lack of thoroughness in patient care, potentially rushed appointments, and a failure to adequately investigate patient symptoms. There are also significant concerns regarding poor communication, including a lack of follow-up on test results and appointments, rude or unhelpful reception staff, and a general lack of initiative in assisting patients. These reviews do not offer any positive feedback regarding the services or environment of this specific location.
There is no promotional information provided in the text. However, for local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" in Palos Park, it is crucial to carefully consider the serious negative feedback present in these recent reviews. The concerns raised about the quality of care, lack of communication, and inadequate follow-up are significant factors that potential patients should take into account when making decisions about their cardiac healthcare.
Given the nature of the feedback, prospective patients may want to exercise caution and consider seeking additional information or alternative options for their cardiac care needs. If considering this center, it would be prudent to inquire specifically about their protocols for patient communication, follow-up procedures, and the typical duration and thoroughness of office visits. Understanding their approach to investigating patient concerns and coordinating care, especially for those with recent cardiac events or ongoing symptoms, would be essential.

Nursing and ancillary staff was good and efficient. It can be a one stop shop for most tests that may be needed. Office staff needs work regarding helpfulness and friendliness. Patients do not have easy access to their own medical records and those policies need to be evaluated.
Dr. Joseph Stella is phenomenal and his bedside manner was second to none. I’d have given five 5 stars had it not been for the way Tammy (who was scheduling people for their follow up appointments) treated the gal who was doing our follow up appointment. Tammy was so unprofessional and unkind in how she acted towards her colleague (who was newer and had some questions) that it made the people in the area all very uncomfortable. A little kindness goes a long way.
This site is very useful for when needed to travel somewhere important Thank you
