Dr. Alan D. Steljes, MD Introduce

For individuals in Henderson, Nevada, and the surrounding communities seeking a “Heart Doctor Near Me,” Dr. Alan D. Steljes, MD, has an office located at 2839 St Rose Pkwy STE 100, Henderson, NV 89052, USA. While direct information about the current status of his practice (active or retired) is somewhat ambiguous based on the provided reviews, it’s important for local users to be aware of his past presence and the varying experiences shared by former patients. Understanding these perspectives can help individuals make informed decisions when seeking cardiovascular care.

Information regarding the environment of Dr. Steljes’s office is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. Typically, a cardiologist’s office aims to provide a professional and comfortable setting for patient consultations and examinations. This would generally include a reception area, waiting room, and private examination rooms equipped for cardiac assessments. However, without specific descriptions, it is difficult to provide a detailed account of the office environment. Prospective patients may wish to inquire directly about the clinic’s atmosphere and facilities when contacting the office.

As a cardiologist, Dr. Alan D. Steljes, MD, would have specialized in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels. Based on the limited information available, including a patient’s experience with uncontrolled hypertension, his services likely encompassed the management of various cardiovascular conditions. These services would typically include:

  • Diagnosis and Management of Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): This involves identifying the causes of hypertension and developing treatment plans, which may include lifestyle modifications and medication management. One review mentions a patient being on multiple medications for this condition.
  • General Cardiology Consultations: Comprehensive evaluations of a patient’s cardiovascular health, including medical history review, physical examinations, and risk factor assessment.
  • Ordering and Interpreting Diagnostic Tests: Cardiologists routinely order and interpret various cardiac tests, although one review expressed a perception of superficiality in this aspect and noted that another cardiologist repeated prior testing. These tests can include electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress tests, and ambulatory monitoring.
  • Referrals to Specialists: When necessary, cardiologists refer patients to other specialists for further evaluation or treatment. One review mentions a referral to an endocrinologist for hypertension management.
  • Management of Various Heart Conditions: While not explicitly detailed, a cardiologist typically manages a range of conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. However, the depth and approach to managing these conditions may vary, as suggested by the contrasting patient experiences.

The provided reviews offer contrasting perspectives on Dr. Steljes’s practice. One reviewer fondly remembers him as “The BEST Cardiologist!” and expresses missing him, even mentioning his potential retirement. This suggests a positive past experience with his care. However, the second, more detailed review presents a less favorable experience. This patient, a retired ICU RN, sought treatment for uncontrolled hypertension and reported being on five medications. Their account raises concerns about the duration before a specialist referral was made, the perceived attitude of the nurse, and the reviewer’s feeling that Dr. Steljes was “very superficial with ordering tests,” leading them to seek care elsewhere.

The second review also highlights a significant point: the patient felt the need for repeated cardiac testing by a subsequent cardiologist, suggesting a potential difference in the thoroughness of the initial evaluations. This reviewer, while stating that Dr. Steljes is “not a bad doctor,” ultimately concluded that he “was not a good match” for their needs. This emphasizes the importance of a good patient-physician relationship and the alignment of treatment approaches.

Given the conflicting nature of these reviews and the mention of potential retirement in one, it is challenging to definitively assess the current features of Dr. Steljes’s practice. Potential features that might have been present include a focus on medication management for conditions like hypertension, the use of standard cardiac diagnostic tests, and a referral network for specialized care. However, the contrasting experiences suggest that the quality of patient interaction and the perceived thoroughness of the diagnostic and treatment approaches may have varied.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. For local users considering Dr. Steljes based on his past presence, it would be prudent to verify his current practice status and potentially seek additional information or recent reviews from other sources if available. The significant difference in the two provided testimonials underscores the importance of individual patient experiences and the need for each person to find a healthcare provider who meets their specific needs and with whom they feel comfortable and confident.

For individuals in Henderson, NV, looking for a “Heart Doctor Near Me,” Dr. Alan D. Steljes, MD, has a listed address on St Rose Pkwy. However, the available reviews present a mixed picture of past patient experiences. One former patient held him in high regard, while another expressed concerns about the management of their hypertension, the perceived superficiality of testing, and issues with staff attitude, ultimately leading them to seek alternative care. These contrasting viewpoints highlight the subjective nature of patient experiences and the importance of considering multiple factors when choosing a healthcare provider.

Local users who are considering contacting Dr. Steljes’s office should be prepared to inquire about his current practice status, the services he currently offers, and potentially seek more recent feedback from other patients to gain a more comprehensive understanding of his practice today. The information provided does not allow for a definitive recommendation but rather presents a snapshot of past experiences that may or may not reflect the current state of his practice.

In conclusion, while Dr. Alan D. Steljes, MD, has a listed location in Henderson, NV, for those seeking a “Heart Doctor Near Me,” the available reviews offer divergent opinions. One review praises him highly, while the other raises concerns about aspects of his clinical approach and patient interaction. Local users should consider these perspectives and conduct further due diligence to determine if Dr. Steljes is the right fit for their cardiovascular healthcare needs, including verifying his current practice status.

Dr Steljes is amazing. I had seen a diff Dr and he told me I was fine, I knew I wasn’t so I went to Dr Steljes and He spent months trying to figure out what was wrong with me, referred me out of state where I was diagnosed with a rare disease that probably would have killed me if not for him asking for someone else to see me! His office staff are awesome!
