Love my cardiologist, but the staff is ridiculous. I called this morning to schedule an appointment and they person who answered the phone didn't even say "good morning, thank you for calling..." When scheduling my appointment she was very short and when I said "thank you and have a great day" she just hung up. I requested a refill and got a call back from another unprofessional staff member stating that because I hadn't been seen, they can only call in a 30 day supply of my medication (cholesterol medicine, not any narcotics or anything like that) until I make an appointment, which I did this morning. I informed the staff member that my last appointment that was scheduled was cancelled by the doctors office, not me and because my mom had passed away I hadn't reached back out to get put on the schedule. I was then told "it doesn't matter what happens in my life or if my appointments get cancelled by them or not" I still have to be seen - yet if I am not they will withhold medication that if I don't take, I can potentially die. Great job. I will be reporting this to the cardiologist as well and the office manager. If I didn't like my cardiologist, I would be looking for a new one because that is how awful some of the staff is. Considering you are in healthcare, you should be more empathetic. My provider asked that I get an echo as soon as possible. I called DCA and they asked for the order to be sent to them and they would call me back to schedule. The order was sent and no one called me. I called again and had to leave a message. No one returned my call. I called again and they finally tracked down my information only to tell me that they are too booked up to schedule me. Do not waste your time trying to be seen here. They are inefficient and if you are in a situation of "as soon as possible" they clearly do not understand what that means.
