ChristianaCare Christiana Hospital Emergency Department Introduce

ChristianaCare Christiana Hospital Emergency Department, located at 4755 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19718, USA, operates within the Cardiac Care Hospital platform category, providing emergency medical services. To contact them, please call (302) 733-1000 or +1 302-733-1000.

This emergency department provides critical care services for a wide range of medical emergencies, including cardiac events. However, patient reviews indicate significant concerns regarding the department's efficiency, cleanliness, and patient flow.

Multiple reviews describe long wait times and inadequate patient accommodations. Patients report being placed on gurneys in hallways for extended periods, sometimes up to four hours, alongside other patients in similar situations. This indicates potential overcrowding and a lack of sufficient patient care areas.

Concerns about cleanliness are also prevalent. Patients have reported finding trash and used medical supplies, such as tissues and pills, left behind from previous patients. This raises serious hygiene concerns and suggests potential lapses in cleaning protocols.

The emergency room waiting experience is described as a "black hole," with patients reporting prolonged waits and a perceived lack of urgency and concern from staff. While some nurses are acknowledged for their kindness, the overall consensus is that there is a severe shortage of staff. Patients report waiting over seven hours to be seen, only to undergo a brief assessment and be sent back to the waiting room. Frustration is a common theme, with some patients ultimately leaving without receiving adequate care.

Given the address and platform category, ChristianaCare Christiana Hospital Emergency Department provides essential emergency medical services, including cardiac care. However, the numerous negative reviews highlight significant operational and patient care issues. The environment is described as overcrowded and potentially unsanitary.

Potential patients are strongly advised to consider these reviews and seek alternative emergency care if possible, especially for non-life-threatening conditions. The reviews suggest that patients with life-threatening conditions may also face significant delays and inadequate care.

For specific details about the services offered and current conditions, it is recommended to contact ChristianaCare Christiana Hospital Emergency Department directly. However, given the nature of the reviews, it is essential to be aware of the potential for long wait times and inadequate care.

Placed on a gurney in a hallway for 4 hours with at least 5 other people in the same situation. Humiliating and embarrassing, completely unacceptable for modern medicine. Trash on the ledge next to my bed, used tissue and dirty pills from previous patient left on gurney of next patient.

I was in the Emergency Room for 11hrs, lab work and Ultrasound done within 1hr of me arriving which was great! I waited for 10 for results to be read but only two Doctors for 150pts. The worse experience I ever had, the staff are rude and impatient. They need to work on their people skills.
