Carilion Clinic Community Care Introduce
For residents of Roanoke, Virginia, seeking accessible healthcare options, Carilion Clinic Community Care, located at 1229 3rd St SW, represents a local medical facility. While the platform category is "Heart Doctor Near Me," it's important to understand that Carilion Clinic Community Care appears to function as a primary care facility, which can serve as an initial point of contact for various health concerns, including potential cardiac issues that may necessitate a referral to a specialist. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of this clinic based on the limited patient reviews available online, keeping in mind its role within the broader healthcare landscape and its potential connection to specialized cardiac care.
Carilion Clinic Community Care operates within a medical clinic setting. As part of the larger Carilion Clinic network, it likely adheres to established standards of medical care and professionalism. The environment typically includes a reception area for patient check-in and administrative tasks, waiting rooms for patients, examination rooms for consultations and general medical assessments, and potentially other areas depending on the range of services offered. The aim is to provide a community-based healthcare setting that is accessible and caters to a variety of primary care needs. While not a specialized cardiac center itself, its role within the Carilion system suggests a connection to a broader network of specialists, including cardiologists.
As a community care clinic within a larger healthcare system, Carilion Clinic Community Care likely offers a range of primary care services. Potential services offered at this location may include:

The available patient reviews offer a mixed perspective on Carilion Clinic Community Care. One review highlights a positive experience with a staff member named Linda, who demonstrated kindness and understanding in assisting a patient whose primary care provider was leaving. This suggests a degree of compassionate and helpful customer service from at least some members of the administrative staff. For local users navigating the healthcare system, such support can be invaluable.
However, another review presents a starkly negative experience, alleging that a doctor "played with" the patient's pain and time, exhibited potential bias, and delayed appropriate referrals and treatment. This review raises serious concerns about the quality of care received, the diagnostic process, and the responsiveness to patient needs. It also suggests potential systemic issues with referral processes and the number of appointments required before addressing a patient's underlying condition. This negative feedback should be carefully considered by prospective patients.
Given the conflicting nature of these limited reviews, it is challenging to definitively characterize the "features" of Carilion Clinic Community Care. However, we can note the following based on the feedback:
- **Potential for helpful and empathetic administrative staff:** As highlighted by the positive review regarding Linda.
- **Concerns regarding diagnostic thoroughness and treatment delays:** As raised by the negative review.
- **Potential issues with referral processes:** Also indicated in the negative review.
- **Primary care focus with likely connections to the broader Carilion specialist network:** Suggesting that while not a heart specialist themselves, they can facilitate access to cardiac care.

I was notified that my Carilion primary care provider would be leaving in August. It was devastating, and the ONLY person at the other Carilion clinics I called who was kind and understanding was Linda at this clinic. She assured me that they would take care of me for anything I needed until I could find a PCP elsewhere. Other places had treated me very abruptly and rudely. But Linda was a breath of fresh air!
Doctor in there played with my pain and played with my time, looked at me like a brown person who was lying about my pain level. Turns out I had two herniated discs and a cyst on my spine. She looked at me and said it’s not that bad after I told her that my quality of life sucked. They don’t even send your referrals. Make you come back for 8-10 appointments before addressing your issue.
Wonderful visit! The phlebotomist Brittany did an amazing job drawing my blood. I was nervous but she made the whole experience super easy. The Nurse practitioner Kelsey Morgan was very knowledgeable and thorough. Loved how down to earth and welcoming she is. I felt very comfortable expressing my concerns and questions. Would highly recommend checking them out .
