Alexander E. Fraley, MD Introduce

For individuals in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and the surrounding areas seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Alexander E. Fraley, MD, is a cardiologist located at 800 Biesterfield Rd SUITE 101, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007, USA. Dr. Fraley can be contacted at (847) 981-3680 or his mobile number at +1 847-981-3680. Understanding a physician's approach and expertise is crucial for patients seeking cardiac care, and the available reviews offer contrasting perspectives on Dr. Fraley's practice.

One patient recounts a highly negative initial consultation experience with Dr. Fraley. This reviewer expresses concerns about perceived inaccuracies in his statements, a lack of thoroughness in understanding their medical history (noting he "didn't seem to have all the facts" and "never even examined me"), and a consultation style described as "crass and judgemental." This patient felt that Dr. Fraley prematurely recommended open-heart surgery without adequately exploring or discussing alternative treatment options. The reviewer's strong dissatisfaction led them to conclude it was their "first and last time meeting" with Dr. Fraley, emphasizing the importance of exploring all avenues before considering major surgical interventions.

In stark contrast, another review presents a life-saving encounter with Dr. Fraley in an emergency situation. This patient was at Alexian Brothers Medical Center for an unrelated issue and subsequently suffered a heart attack. They coded for eight minutes before the rapid response team reached the cardiology unit on the first floor. According to this account, Dr. Fraley was on duty at 2 am on November 9th and is credited with saving the patient's life. The reviewer expresses profound gratitude for Dr. Fraley's presence and timely intervention during this critical medical emergency, stating, "I owe him for being there."

Considering these divergent experiences, it is important for local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" to weigh these perspectives. Dr. Fraley's role in a life-threatening emergency highlights his ability to act decisively and effectively in critical cardiac situations. His presence on duty at a crucial time and his intervention in a case of cardiac arrest suggest expertise in emergency cardiology.

However, the negative consultation experience raises concerns about his communication style, thoroughness in initial assessments, and approach to treatment recommendations, particularly regarding major surgical options. This suggests that while Dr. Fraley may possess the skills necessary for emergency interventions, his approach to routine consultations and discussions about treatment plans may not be perceived positively by all patients.

As a cardiologist, Dr. Fraley's services would typically include the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of heart conditions. These may encompass:

  • Management of coronary artery disease, including potential recommendations for interventions such as angioplasty, stenting, or bypass surgery.
  • Treatment of heart failure.
  • Management of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias).
  • Diagnosis and treatment of valvular heart disease.
  • Management of hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
  • Preventive cardiology and risk assessment.
  • Emergency cardiac care, as highlighted in the life-saving review.

The environment of Dr. Fraley's office, located in Suite 101 at 800 Biesterfield Rd, Elk Grove Village, would likely be a standard medical office setting, equipped for patient consultations and potentially some basic cardiac diagnostic tests. However, more advanced procedures and surgeries would be performed at an affiliated hospital, such as Alexian Brothers Medical Center, as indicated in one of the reviews.

Features of Dr. Fraley's practice might include his availability for emergency cardiac situations, as demonstrated by the patient who suffered a heart attack at the hospital. His ability to respond effectively in such critical moments could be a significant feature for patients with acute cardiac needs. However, potential patients may also want to consider the communication and consultation style reported by the other reviewer when deciding if his approach aligns with their preferences.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, a cardiologist's reputation often rests on patient outcomes and experiences. The life-saving intervention described in one review could be seen as a powerful, albeit anecdotal, form of promotion for his skills in emergency cardiology. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary note regarding the consultation process.

Local users searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" may need to consider the specific nature of their cardiac needs. If facing an acute cardiac emergency, Dr. Fraley's reported actions suggest he can be a crucial resource. However, for routine consultations and the discussion of treatment options, patients may want to be prepared to ask thorough questions, seek detailed explanations, and potentially consider seeking a second opinion, especially when major interventions like open-heart surgery are recommended early in the consultation process without a comprehensive examination or discussion of alternatives.

In conclusion, Alexander E. Fraley, MD, is a cardiologist in Elk Grove Village, IL, who appears to have demonstrated life-saving skills in emergency cardiac situations. However, at least one patient reports a negative consultation experience characterized by perceived inaccuracies, a judgmental demeanor, a lack of thoroughness, and a premature recommendation for major surgery without sufficient exploration of alternatives or a comprehensive examination. Local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should consider these contrasting experiences when deciding if Dr. Fraley's approach meets their individual needs and preferences.

On November 9, 2023 I was at Alexian Bros for an unrelated issue and had to go to the emergency room. Shortly afterwards I had a heart attack and by the time the rapid response team got me to the 1st floor cardiology I coded for 8 minutes. Dr Fraley happened to on duty at 2am on November 9th AND SAVED MY LIFE. I owe him for being there.

when Dr. Fraley was in Durango, Co. 10/2019. My 79 year old husband went down at home. Excellent CPR by family and defibrillation got a rhythm back. But it was Dr. Fraley who saved his brain, heart, and body with a full resuscitation. 11 days later I took him home, a little goofy and frail. Now he’s 82, we’re retired and he is strong and sharper of mind then ever! God and Dr. Fraley as well as excellent nurse care saved this wonderful man.
