The provided patient reviews offer contrasting perspectives on Dr. May's practice. One review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the wait time and perceived lack of care from the staff during a long wait for an appointment. This feedback highlights a potential area for improvement in the clinic's administrative processes and communication with patients, particularly those traveling long distances.
Conversely, the second review offers high praise for Dr. May's exceptional care during a surgical procedure. The reviewer specifically commends his "great bedside manner," noting his thorough explanations to both the patient and family, his proactive engagement by asking for questions and shaking hands (fostering trust), and his immediate follow-up after surgery to check on the patient and provide clear instructions. This positive feedback underscores Dr. May's knowledge, confidence, and patient-centered approach, particularly in the context of a critical procedure.
Considering these two distinct experiences, it's important for prospective patients to weigh both aspects. While the negative review regarding wait times and staff interaction is a concern, the positive review highlights Dr. May's strong clinical skills and excellent patient communication, particularly during and after a significant surgery. The "exceptional" descriptor and the detailed account of his considerate behavior suggest a physician who is both knowledgeable and empathetic.
For individuals seeking a Cardiac Electrophysiologist in the Roanoke area, Dr. Terrence P. May, MD, offers specialized expertise in managing heart rhythm disorders. While the administrative aspects of the practice may have some challenges according to one review, Dr. May's clinical skills and bedside manner, especially in surgical contexts, appear to be highly regarded by at least one patient. Potential patients may want to inquire about typical wait times and the clinic's policies when scheduling appointments.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Dr. May's practice, including the specific procedures performed in-office, his affiliations with local hospitals, and current patient experiences, contacting his office directly at (540) 982-8204 is recommended. Asking specific questions about wait times, pre-operative and post-operative care protocols, and the support staff can provide valuable information for making an informed decision about your cardiac electrophysiology care.
In conclusion, Dr. Terrence P. May, MD, in Roanoke, VA, offers specialized expertise as a Cardiac Electrophysiologist, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. While one patient reported significant wait times and staff issues, another praised Dr. May's exceptional surgical care and bedside manner. Dr. Mays was exceptional today for my mom’s surgery, he did great! Great bedside manner, I work In Dentistry what caught my eye was how he explained everything to us and my mom asked if any family had questions, and the key shook my mom’s hand and ours that’s a gain of trust you get before you go into surgery! He immediately came in after surgery checking on mom and explaining the procedure he did and her instructions at home. Very knowledgeable and confident!
