Robert Townsend Cole, MD Introduce

For local users in Atlanta, Georgia, seeking cardiovascular care under the platform category "Heart Doctor Near Me," we present information regarding Robert Townsend Cole, MD, whose office is located at 95 Collier Rd NW # 3000, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA. While details about the specific environment of this suite are not provided, medical offices in this area typically offer a standard clinical setting for patient consultations and examinations. Prospective patients can likely expect a space designed for medical appointments.

Information regarding the specific services offered by Dr. Robert Townsend Cole is limited in the provided text. However, as a cardiologist, his practice would generally focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. This typically includes services such as cardiac consultations, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and potentially other non-invasive diagnostic tests. Based on one patient review, it appears Dr. Cole also deals with referrals from emergency rooms. To obtain a comprehensive understanding of the specific services provided by Dr. Cole, including the types of cardiac conditions he treats and the diagnostic procedures he offers, local users are strongly encouraged to contact his office directly at (404) 605-5140 or via mobile phone at +1 404-605-5140.

The available online reviews present significant concerns regarding Dr. Cole's practice, particularly concerning appointment reliability and diagnostic accuracy. One patient reports a recurring issue of Dr. Cole not calling for scheduled virtual appointments, indicating a lack of respect for patients' time and a potential problem with office communication or scheduling. This negative feedback suggests that prospective patients may experience difficulties with appointment adherence.

Another, more detailed review recounts a troubling experience involving the reviewer's 80+ year old grandfather who was referred to Dr. Cole by the emergency room at Piedmont. This review raises serious questions about Dr. Cole's diagnostic process and the accuracy of his medical record entries. The reviewer states that an electrophysiologist, also consulted, found no issues with the grandfather's heart rhythm, yet Dr. Cole allegedly documented Chronic Heart Failure after only a brief consultation and an EKG. This diagnosis reportedly caused issues with the grandfather receiving necessary care from other specialists, specifically delaying a colonoscopy.

Subsequent consultations with another cardiologist, involving a series of tests over three visits, reportedly found no evidence of heart failure. When the reviewer contacted Dr. Cole's office about this discrepancy, Dr. Cole allegedly referred to hospital notes mentioning fluid around the heart and a possible past heart attack, information that was not initially shared with the family. The reviewer expresses concern that Dr. Cole did not perform adequate testing himself before making the diagnosis of chronic heart failure. The situation escalated to the point where the grandfather experienced negative side effects from medication prescribed based on Dr. Cole's diagnosis and ultimately refused further medical testing due to the confusion and perceived inaccuracy of the initial diagnosis.

This detailed account raises significant concerns about Dr. Cole's diagnostic thoroughness, his reliance on potentially unverified hospital notes, and the impact of his documented diagnosis on the patient's subsequent medical care. The reviewer explicitly advises others to be vigilant about the information being placed in their healthcare records by any doctor, as it can have far-reaching consequences.

Given these serious and negative reviews, it is challenging to identify positive "features" of Dr. Cole's practice based solely on this information. The reviews highlight significant issues with appointment reliability and, more importantly, raise serious concerns about diagnostic accuracy and the potential for negative impacts on patient care due to these issues. Prospective patients should carefully consider these accounts when making decisions about their cardiac care.

Currently, no promotional information is available for Dr. Robert Townsend Cole in the provided text. Local users considering Dr. Cole for their cardiac care needs are strongly advised to contact his office directly to inquire about his diagnostic approach, appointment procedures, and to address any concerns arising from the publicly available reviews. It may also be prudent to seek second opinions before committing to long-term care based on the information presented in these reviews.

In conclusion, Robert Townsend Cole, MD, located in Atlanta, GA, is a cardiologist whose practice has received concerning feedback regarding appointment reliability and diagnostic accuracy. The detailed account of one patient's grandfather raises serious questions about the thoroughness of Dr. Cole's evaluations and the potential for inaccurate diagnoses to impede necessary medical care. Local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should carefully consider these reviews and conduct thorough due diligence, including direct communication with Dr. Cole's office and potentially seeking second opinions, before making informed decisions about their cardiovascular healthcare.

Doctor never called for my appointment. This is the second time this has happened with this doctor. Edit: This doctor and his office are trying to save face. My appointment was scheduled at 1:00 PM for a virtual appointment and he never called. This is the SECOND scheduled appointment he decided not to respect and acknowledge.

My husband became a patient of Dr. Cole 10 years ago. He has ALWAYS been a patient advocate. He truly is concerned with giving the best care as well as making you feel at ease with the hard decisions. We left Emory to follow him to Piedmont. His group here is a step above them all. Dr. Cole is truly a God sent..
