  • Emergency Cardiac Care: The experience of a patient rushed to Overland Park Regional with a massive blockage ("widow maker") highlights the team's ability to handle critical cardiac emergencies. Their prompt response and life-saving interventions, including the placement of stents, demonstrate their capacity to provide immediate and effective care for acute myocardial infarction and other critical conditions.
  • Diagnostic Procedures: The process of identifying the initial blockage and the subsequent discovery of further blockage requiring intervention indicates the use of advanced diagnostic procedures such as angiography (cardiac catheterization) to visualize the coronary arteries and assess the extent of the disease.
  • Interventional Cardiology: The successful placement of two stents to resolve a critical blockage and the subsequent planning for addressing further significant blockage (80% with a T-branch) showcase the interventional cardiology expertise within the practice. This includes procedures like percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), where catheters are used to open blocked arteries and place stents to improve blood flow.
  • Post-Intervention Management: The follow-up care provided to the patient after the initial stenting procedure, including the assessment of further blockages and the discussion of necessary future interventions, indicates a comprehensive approach to post-procedural management and long-term care planning.
  • General Cardiology Services: Beyond emergency and interventional care, Overland Park Cardiovascular likely provides a range of general cardiology services, including the diagnosis and management of common heart conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, arrhythmias, and heart failure. However, the provided reviews primarily focus on acute care.

On August 21st of this year I had a massive blockage in the arterie known as the widow maker. I was rushed to Overlandpark Regional. They had called in the cardiologist team headed by Dr Sabopathy. He told me I was almost completely blocked. He placed 2 stents that saved my life that night. Next day he told me I had 80 percent blockage upstream from the 2 stents he had placed which also had a T branch that had to be addressed.
