However, it is crucial to consider the full spectrum of patient experiences when evaluating a healthcare facility. The provided reviews for Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center offer insights into specific aspects of care that potential users should be aware of. One review details a significantly negative experience with a physician in the Emergency Department (ED), Dr. Brandt. The reviewer alleges that Dr. Brandt did not listen to their concerns, failed to review their medical history adequately, dismissed their symptoms, and potentially misdiagnosed a respiratory condition (RSV). The reviewer also claims that Dr. Brandt falsified patient notes and that attempts to involve a patient advocate or complain were futile. This individual expressed feeling that their serious lung issues were repeatedly dismissed by this particular ED physician, ultimately leading to a critical health situation that was appropriately addressed at a different hospital. This review suggests potential issues with communication, thoroughness of evaluation, and patient advocacy within the ED when dealing with this specific doctor.

Another review raises serious concerns about the hospital's handling of mental health crises in the ED. The reviewer described waiting for five hours without receiving care after checking in for a mental health concern. They also expressed feeling trapped and unable to leave, highlighting a lack of transparency about the implications of seeking emergency mental health assistance at this facility. This experience suggests potential shortcomings in the timely and appropriate care for individuals experiencing mental health emergencies in the ED setting.

It is important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and may not reflect the entirety of care provided at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center. The first reviewer specifically mentioned having "great doctors that take care of me outside of the ED in Huntersville," suggesting that the issues encountered were isolated to the ED and a specific physician. However, these accounts warrant consideration for individuals seeking emergency care or mental health services at this facility.

I just had surgery and stayed overnight. The Nurses and CNA and Dr were great. I want to say Shamera in mother and baby unit was very attentive. When I was in pain she stayed on top of it . I never had to wait too long for ice packs or meds for pain. Her and Mary the CNA were great! I appreciate them and Dr Malek who did my surgery.

Absolutely poor communications and care. I sat in ER to be moved back and forth between labs and X-ray for over 6.5 hours. Amy, the nurse was very rude and dismissive while showing little concern for those who had concerns about our care. She should not be responsible for communicating with patients if she cannot provide care with empathy or respect. I expect more from NOVANT or any facility in charge of care.
