Methodist Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio - Medical Drive Introduce

Welcome to the detailed introduction of the Methodist Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio - Medical Drive, a facility offering cardiac care services in San Antonio, Texas. As a user of the "Heart Doctor Near Me" platform, you are likely seeking information about local cardiology clinics. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the clinic's environment, potential services, and features, as gleaned from the limited information and recent patient reviews available online.

Location and Environment:

The Methodist Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio - Medical Drive is located at 4411 Medical Dr Suite 300, 120, San Antonio, TX 78229, USA. This address places the clinic within the medical district of San Antonio, suggesting a setting that is part of a larger healthcare ecosystem, likely equipped for various cardiac consultations and potentially diagnostic procedures. The mention of a "3rd floor" in one of the reviews indicates a multi-story building. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance are not readily available, clinics within the Methodist network often aim for a professional and patient-oriented environment.

You can contact the Methodist Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio - Medical Drive at phone: (210) 614-5400 or mobile phone: +1 210-614-5400 for inquiries or to schedule appointments.

Services Offered:

The limited information available does not provide an exhaustive list of services. However, based on the context of a cardiology clinic and the mention of an "echo" (likely an echocardiogram, a common cardiac diagnostic test) and a "stress test," we can infer that the clinic offers at least some of the following types of services:

  • Diagnostic Testing: Including echocardiograms and cardiac stress tests, used to assess heart function and identify potential issues.
  • Cardiology Consultations: Where patients meet with cardiologists to discuss their heart health, symptoms, and treatment options.
  • Follow-up Care: Appointments for ongoing management of cardiac conditions.

As part of the Methodist Healthcare system, the clinic likely adheres to established protocols for cardiac care, and may offer a range of other diagnostic and treatment services depending on the specialists on staff.

Features and Expertise:

Given the limited positive information directly about the services and expertise, it is challenging to detail specific features. However, being part of the Methodist Healthcare system often implies access to a network of specialists and advanced medical resources. One aspect that emerges from the reviews, albeit negatively, is the presence of front desk staff and schedulers who play a role in the patient experience.

One review mentions a negative interaction with the front desk staff on the 3rd floor, describing them as rude and disrespectful. Another review details significant dissatisfaction with the scheduling staff, Rebecca and Barbara, and the actions of a Dr. Donovan (whose specific role isn't clarified but is presumably a cardiologist at this location). This patient reported being refused an appointment shortly before the scheduled date due to a past association with a different cardiologist, leading to travel and work disruptions. The reviewer described the staff's attitude as "very rude" and "heartless."

Conversely, the mention of an echocardiogram suggests that the clinic is equipped for cardiac diagnostic imaging. However, without more positive feedback or detailed service descriptions, a comprehensive overview of the clinic's features and expertise from a service delivery perspective is limited.

Promotional Information and User Feedback:

There is no explicit promotional information provided. The user feedback consists of two negative reviews. One focuses on the unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff, emphasizing the importance of decency, especially in a cardiac clinic where patients may already be anxious. The other review expresses extreme disappointment with the scheduling staff and a Dr. Donovan for refusing to see a new patient under circumstances the patient found unreasonable and handled poorly by the clinic.

For local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," it is important to consider all available information, including patient experiences. The provided reviews raise concerns about the front desk and scheduling staff's professionalism and patient communication at the Methodist Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio - Medical Drive. While the clinic is part of the reputable Methodist Healthcare system, these individual experiences highlight potential issues with patient service.

If you are considering this clinic, you may want to inquire specifically about the cardiologists on staff and the processes for scheduling and communication. The negative feedback suggests that while the medical care itself might be in line with the Methodist standards, the administrative and initial contact experiences could vary.

To gain a more balanced perspective, seeking additional reviews or directly contacting the clinic to inquire about their services and patient care protocols might be beneficial. The provided information does not allow for a strong positive or negative recommendation regarding the medical expertise itself, but it does flag concerns about the administrative and front-end patient interactions.

In summary, the Methodist Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio - Medical Drive, located on Medical Drive, is part of a well-known healthcare system. However, recent patient reviews indicate significant issues with the professionalism of the front desk and scheduling staff, leading to negative experiences for at least two patients. While the clinic offers diagnostic services like echocardiograms and stress tests, potential patients should be aware of these reported administrative challenges when considering this "Heart Doctor Near Me" option in San Antonio.

Your front desk is very rude. 3rd floor as soon as I walked in at 8am. Was super disrespectful on her phone said good morning was ignored multiple times. TIL I finally said it louder. Then she said what can I do to help you. I said I had an echo she said annoyed around corner. Just treat people with decency. Especially in a cardio clinic.

I saw Dr. Shah at the San Antonio Cardiology Clinic today. He was amazing! He took the time to explain medication options and side effects. Dr. Shah was patient and kind and answered all my questions. I highly recommend him!! His secretary Lindi was very helpful in scheduling follow up testing.

Don't miss an appointment or dare feel like you don't need that annual visit. It won't take much for you to be dropped and treated as a new patient. Then, good luck getting in. And, if you have EVER seen one of their doctors, you can not see any other physician. They won't touch you. Do NOT think this physician group has grown like this so they can help patients. It is apparently solely there for the doctor's benefit.
