The testimonials from parents paint a vivid picture of a dedicated and compassionate team led by a remarkable surgeon, referred to as "Dr. G." Another heartfelt review comes from a foster parent who faced the daunting prospect of heart surgery for their foster daughter. Given a choice between Medical City Children's Hospital and another major, more widely recognized hospital, the decision was made to choose Medical City primarily due to its convenient location near the foster parent's workplace. However, the experience at Medical City far surpassed expectations. The foster parent was "beyond pleased" with their decision, emphasizing that "everyone (and I mean every single one) went above and beyond to make a difficult time as bearable and pleasant as they could." This speaks to a pervasive culture of care and empathy within the entire unit, extending beyond just the surgical team to include all staff members who interacted with the patient and family.

This dual recognition of both her exceptional medical skills and her compassionate nature underscores the holistic approach to care provided at Medical City Children's Congenital Heart Surgery. The reviewer further notes that it was "evident that my sweet foster baby was more than just another patient," highlighting the personalized and attentive care they received. My son was only four weeks old when Dr, Mendeloff did open heart surgery on my son Avishai. He placed a pulmonary valve in his heart. I will never forget coming into my son's room at St. Louis Children's Hospital, seeing him sitting in a chair watching my boy as he slept. Avishai, is 15 years old now. Amazing doctor !!!!!
