Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC Introduce

For residents of New Hyde Park, New York, and the surrounding areas seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC, located at 1983 Marcus Ave e124, presents a local option for cardiovascular care. Based on the available patient reviews, the practice appears to have both notable strengths in its medical providers and significant challenges in its administrative efficiency, particularly concerning wait times.

One patient review highlights the positive experience with the "physician assistant," describing them as "great." This suggests that the practice employs competent and well-regarded allied health professionals who contribute positively to patient care. However, this positive aspect is significantly overshadowed by a major concern raised by the same reviewer: excessively long wait times. The review explicitly states that patients should expect to spend "at least an hour in the waiting room" followed by "at least another hour waiting in an exam room." This reported 2+ hour wait time is a critical piece of information for prospective patients to consider when evaluating their options for cardiac care.

Furthermore, the same reviewer raises concerns about the frequency of seeing the actual cardiologist, suggesting that patients "probably won’t even see the actual cardiologist either, just the physician assistant." This is an important point for individuals who specifically seek consultation and treatment from a board-certified cardiologist. The review also criticizes the practice for scheduling "multiple follow up visits that could have just been a simple phone call," citing unnecessary copays and significant time wasted waiting for routine updates such as "test results look good." This feedback suggests potential inefficiencies in communication and follow-up protocols.

In contrast, another patient review offers a more positive perspective on a specific provider, "Dr. Gomez," whom they describe as "an amazing provider who goes up and beyond to help those who seek his care." This suggests that the quality of medical care provided by at least one of the cardiologists at Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC is highly valued by patients. However, this positive feedback is tempered by the acknowledgment that "the office is a bit of a mad house and the wait is usually long, but worth it." This corroborates the issue of long wait times but implies that for some patients, the quality of care received from Dr. Gomez outweighs this significant inconvenience.

Given these conflicting perspectives, it is challenging to definitively characterize the environment of Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC. The mention of the office being a "bit of a mad house" suggests a potentially busy and perhaps somewhat disorganized setting. While the quality of the medical professionals appears to be a strength, the administrative aspects, particularly patient flow and communication, seem to be areas of concern based on the patient feedback.

Based on the name "Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC," and the likelihood of having cardiologists on staff, the services offered would typically encompass a range of cardiac care, including:

  • Cardiac Consultations and Evaluations: Providing expert medical opinions and comprehensive assessments for patients with suspected or known heart conditions.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Utilizing various technologies to assess heart function and identify cardiovascular issues. This would likely include electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress tests (exercise and pharmacological), Holter and event monitoring, and potentially more advanced cardiac imaging and diagnostic procedures.
  • Management of Cardiovascular Diseases: Offering treatment plans and ongoing care for a wide range of heart conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and valvular heart disease.
  • Preventive Cardiology: Focusing on strategies to reduce the risk of developing heart disease through lifestyle modifications, risk factor management, and patient education.
  • Medication Management: Prescribing and managing medications used to treat various cardiac conditions.
  • Follow-up Care: Providing regular check-ups and monitoring for patients with established cardiac diagnoses.

The features of Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC appear to be a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on the available reviews. A key strength seems to be the quality of the medical providers, with both the physician assistant and at least one cardiologist, Dr. Gomez, receiving positive feedback for their expertise and patient care. However, a significant drawback appears to be the consistently long wait times reported by patients, as well as potential inefficiencies in scheduling follow-up appointments and communication of routine test results.

There is no explicit promotional information available for Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC. However, the positive feedback regarding the physician assistant and Dr. Gomez could be seen as implicit endorsements of the clinical skills within the practice. For local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," the potential for receiving high-quality medical care from these providers might be a significant draw, despite the reported administrative challenges.

For residents of New Hyde Park, NY, and the surrounding areas considering Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC, it is crucial to weigh the potential benefits of seeing a well-regarded medical professional against the significant concerns raised about long wait times and the possibility of primarily seeing a physician assistant rather than a cardiologist. If timely appointments and efficient communication are high priorities, prospective patients may want to inquire specifically about these aspects when contacting the office at (516) 627-2121 or +1 516-627-2121.

In conclusion, Long Island Cardiovascular Consultants, PC in New Hyde Park offers the potential for excellent cardiac care, particularly from providers like the praised physician assistant and Dr. Gomez. However, prospective patients should be aware of the significant concerns regarding long wait times and the frequency of seeing the actual cardiologist, as highlighted in patient reviews. For those who prioritize the quality of the medical professional and are willing to tolerate potential administrative inefficiencies, this practice may still be a viable option within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category. It is recommended to contact the office directly to gather more information and make an informed decision based on individual priorities and tolerance for wait times.

The physician assistant is great. But NOBODY is worth the 2+ hour wait when you come here. Spend at least an hour in the waiting room. Then spend at least another hour waiting in an exam room. Oh and you probably won’t even see the actual cardiologist either, just the physician assistant. They have had me schedule multiple follow up visits that could have just been a simple phone call, no need for a copay and several hours down the drain waiting for a “test results look good.”

Dr. Gomez is an amazing provider who goes up and beyond to help those who seek his care. The office is a bit of a mad house and the wait is usually long, but worth it.

This is a privately owned practice and it shows. Everyone there is always so helpful unlike some practices which are owned by a hospital. No matter when you call, day or night, someone from the practice will get back to you in a timely fashion. Dr. Cohen is the BEST. He is an excellent listener. I tend to be somewhat verbose and he always lets me tell him everything that is on my mind.

Nancy in the billing department is hands down the rudest, nastiest human being. They should be ashamed that they employ someone like that. Patients do not deserve to be treated in such a matter when they come to the doctor, it really isn’t right. Shame on them! I would never recommend going there for care. If you come across her, beware.
