Kimberly Miller, DNP, ACNS-BC Introduce

For individuals in the Las Cruces, New Mexico area seeking a dedicated and compassionate "Heart Doctor Near Me," Kimberly Miller, DNP, ACNS-BC, located at 4351 E Lohman Ave #201, Las Cruces, NM 88011, offers specialized cardiac care. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice and an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health, Ms. Miller brings a unique and holistic approach to managing heart health concerns. While the term "Heart Doctor" typically refers to a medical doctor (MD or DO), advanced practice nurses like Ms. Miller play a vital role in providing comprehensive and patient-centered care within the cardiology field. For those in El Paso considering options in nearby Las Cruces, understanding the services and patient experiences at Ms. Miller's practice is essential.

Located in a professional building on East Lohman Avenue, Kimberly Miller's clinic likely provides a comfortable and private setting for patient consultations and care. While the reviews do not extensively describe the physical environment, the focus on the quality of Ms. Miller's interactions with patients suggests a patient-focused atmosphere within the clinical space. Patients can likely expect a standard medical office environment conducive to thorough assessments and personalized care planning.

One of the most prominent features highlighted in the patient reviews is Ms. Miller's exceptional patient-centered approach. One reviewer describes her as "amazing" and specifically notes that she was "not rushed" during the consultation. This is a significant aspect of quality healthcare, as it allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the patient's history and current concerns. The reviewer further emphasizes that Ms. Miller "took her time to take a thorough history," indicating a commitment to gathering all necessary information for an accurate assessment and effective care plan.

Furthermore, Ms. Miller is praised for her communication skills, with the reviewer stating that she "explained everything" clearly. Effective communication is crucial in healthcare, ensuring that patients understand their conditions, treatment options, and the rationale behind care decisions. This transparency fosters trust and empowers patients to actively participate in managing their health.

Another key aspect of Ms. Miller's practice, according to this reviewer, is her understanding and respect for the patient's preferences regarding medication. The statement, "She understood my need to not take medications unless it was necessary," suggests a collaborative approach where treatment plans are tailored to the individual's needs and values, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. This patient highly recommends Ms. Miller, underscoring the positive impact of her care.

A second reviewer echoes the positive sentiments regarding Ms. Miller's clinical skills and interpersonal manner, describing her as "very pleasant, compassionate and caring." These qualities are essential for building rapport with patients and creating a supportive healthcare environment, particularly when dealing with potentially concerning heart health issues. The reviewer also highlights Ms. Miller's knowledge and her ability to answer all questions while demonstrating "genuine concern" for the patient's health. This reinforces the impression of a dedicated and patient-focused healthcare provider.

However, this second review also brings to light a significant area of concern regarding the front desk staff. The reviewer states that the front desk staff "could use some customer service training" and recounts an unpleasant experience of "having to hear profanity from staff working the front desk while patients are filling out their paper work." This creates a highly unprofessional and uncomfortable atmosphere for patients seeking medical care. Additionally, this reviewer found the staff providing information after the consultation with Ms. Miller to be "rude and short with answers," speculating that they might have been having a bad day. Regardless of the reason, such behavior detracts from the overall patient experience and can negatively impact the perception of the entire practice.

Based on the available patient feedback, key features of Kimberly Miller, DNP, ACNS-BC's practice appear to include:

  • Thorough Patient History Taking: Ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the patient's health background.
  • Clear and Comprehensive Explanations: Facilitating patient understanding of their conditions and care plans.
  • Patient-Centered Approach: Respecting patient preferences regarding treatment, including medication.
  • Pleasant, Compassionate, and Caring Manner: Creating a supportive and empathetic healthcare environment.
  • Knowledgeable and Responsive: Answering patient questions and demonstrating genuine concern for their health.

However, potential patients should also be aware of the reported issues with the front desk staff's customer service and professionalism. This discrepancy between the excellent care provided by Ms. Miller and the negative experiences with administrative staff is an important consideration.

Kimberly Miller was very pleasant, compassionate and caring. Very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and had a genuine concern for my health. Unfortunately, the front desk staff could use some customer service training. Having to hear profanity from staff working the front desk while patients are filling out their paper work is not a pleasant atmosphere. Staff providing information after being seen by Ms. Miller was rude and short with answers to my questions. Maybe having a bad day?

“Kim Cares”, that pretty much sums up our visit. My Mother is 94 this Month and has multiple health issues. Kim is so patient and lets you talk about your concerns. She explains everything and asks for your input. I am my Mother’s care giver and it’s reassuring that Kim Miller CNP is on our team. We drive 2 hours to come and see her when needed.

From the front desk to Kim Miller's medical assistant, it's an awesome experience. Yes Kim's specialty is cardiology, but she knows where she came from as a bedside nurse and puts every bit of her knowledge into taking the very best care of her patients.

I've been seeing Dr. Kimberly Miller for about 8 years and have been very pleased with her care as well as well as the office staff in general. Dr. Miller always spends an appropriate amount of time with her patients and works very hard to resolve any problems that come up. The entire practice is excellent and I am confident in the care I receive at this cardiology practice.
