The provided contact numbers are (734) 712-8000 and +1 734-712-8000. While the specific affiliation of Dr. Holtze is not explicitly stated in the provided information, the phone number format (712-8xxx) is often associated with St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, suggesting a potential connection to this healthcare system. Ypsilanti is a neighboring city to Ann Arbor, making this location accessible for individuals seeking cardiac care in the broader region.

Information regarding the specific environment of Dr. Holtze's office at the Elliott Drive location is not detailed in the provided data. However, being situated within a medical office building likely indicates a standard clinical setting with examination rooms, waiting areas, and necessary medical equipment for outpatient cardiology consultations. Patients can generally expect a professional environment suitable for discussing their cardiac concerns and undergoing initial assessments.

The specific services offered by Dr. Holtze are not comprehensively listed in the provided information. However, as a cardiologist, her practice would generally encompass the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various heart conditions. These services typically include:

  • General Cardiology Consultation: Evaluation of symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, and dizziness to assess potential cardiac issues.
  • Cardiovascular Risk Assessment: Evaluating an individual's risk factors for heart disease, including family history, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, smoking status, and other relevant factors.
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG): A non-invasive test to measure the electrical activity of the heart.
  • Echocardiogram: An ultrasound of the heart to assess its structure and function. (The negative review mentions the patient requesting a test, implying this service might be available).
  • Holter Monitoring: Continuous recording of the heart's electrical activity over a period of time to detect intermittent arrhythmias.
  • Management of Common Cardiac Conditions: Treatment of conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, heart failure, and coronary artery disease.
  • Referral for Advanced Cardiac Procedures: When necessary, referring patients to specialists for procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stenting, or cardiac surgery.
  • Lifestyle Counseling: Providing guidance on diet, exercise, and other lifestyle modifications to improve heart health.

Features of Dr. Holtze's practice would typically include her medical training and board certification in cardiology. Patients often seek a cardiologist who is knowledgeable, experienced, and communicates effectively. However, the provided patient review offers a significantly negative perspective on these aspects.

The single, detailed patient review presents serious concerns about Dr. Holtze's professionalism, empathy, and clinical judgment. The reviewer describes feeling unheard and dismissed, alleging that Dr. Holtze did not adequately explore the potential causes of their chest pain, despite a family history of heart disease. The reviewer specifically mentions that Dr. Holtze attributed the symptoms to recent weight loss without further investigation and provided dietary advice that conflicted with the patient's existing bariatric management plan. Furthermore, the reviewer states that Dr. Holtze did not provide any orders for tests or home instructions.

Adding to these concerns, the reviewer recounts overhearing Dr. Holtze and her staff making disparaging remarks about a test the patient had requested, even admitting to this conversation upon entering the examination room. The reviewer concludes by expressing a highly negative opinion of Dr. Holtze's demeanor, describing her as arrogant and lacking empathy, and strongly recommending against seeing her as a cardiologist.

Given that this is the only patient review provided, it is crucial to present this information objectively as it is the only direct feedback available regarding Dr. Holtze's practice. This review raises significant red flags concerning patient communication, empathy, thoroughness of assessment, and overall professionalism. Potential patients seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should carefully consider this account when making their decision.

Promotional information for Dr. Holtze is not included in the provided data. Typically, promotional aspects for a physician might include their affiliations with reputable hospitals (such as St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, if the phone number association is accurate), their board certifications, any specialized areas of expertise within cardiology, patient testimonials (when positive), and information about their patient-centered approach to care. However, in this case, the sole testimonial is overwhelmingly negative and does not offer any positive promotional aspects.

It is important to note that a single negative review does not necessarily represent the experience of all patients. However, the detailed and concerning nature of this feedback warrants serious consideration. Individuals considering Dr. Holtze for their cardiac care may want to seek additional information from other sources, if available, or consider scheduling an initial consultation to form their own impression. However, they should also be prepared to discuss the concerns raised in this review and inquire about Dr. Holtze's approach to patient communication, symptom evaluation, and follow-up care.

For individuals in Ypsilanti and the surrounding areas looking for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," it would be prudent to research other cardiologists in the region, review their credentials and patient feedback from various sources, and consider seeking a second opinion if they have any concerns about the care they are receiving. Online physician directories, hospital websites, and insurance provider listings can often provide information about other cardiologists in the network.

In conclusion, Dr. Kate Holtze, MD, is a cardiologist with an office in Ypsilanti, MI. While her affiliation appears to be with St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor based on the phone number, this is not explicitly stated. The only available patient review describes a deeply negative experience characterized by a perceived lack of empathy, dismissiveness of symptoms, inadequate investigation, and unprofessional communication. Potential patients seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should carefully consider this feedback and seek additional information or consider alternative cardiologists in the area to ensure they receive the comprehensive and empathetic cardiac care they deserve.

In my opinion she is the worst cardiologist I have ever experienced. I have no idea why she is employed by anyone. She is arrogant and has no empathy. An awful human being.

Dr. Kate Holtze performed a TEE on my sister. Doctor did an excellent job. She had very good bedside manner, was skilled, knowledgeable, kind, and caring. Along with her, the nurses and all other personnel with whom we interacted were very good and informed us of each step of the procedure.
