Located within Medical Building E at 1940 Alcoa Hwy e310, Knoxville, TN 37920, USA, the institute offers a centralized location for a multidisciplinary approach to complex cardiopulmonary and vascular health issues. Being part of the University of Tennessee (UT) network suggests a connection to academic medical expertise, advanced resources, and a commitment to comprehensive patient care.

Situated within the UT Medical Center complex, the Heart Lung Vascular Institute likely benefits from a well-established medical infrastructure. Patients can generally expect a facility equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies. As a comprehensive institute focusing on the heart, lungs, and vascular system, the Heart Lung Vascular Institute likely offers a broad spectrum of specialized services. This multidisciplinary approach allows for coordinated care for patients with complex and often interconnected conditions. The services provided may include:

  • Cardiology Services: Encompassing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart diseases. This includes consultations with cardiologists, non-invasive and invasive diagnostic procedures (such as ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac catheterization, and angiography), management of conditions like coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, and interventional cardiology procedures (like angioplasty and stenting). Given the platform category "Heart Doctor Near Me," this is a central focus of the institute.
  • Pulmonary Services: Addressing diseases and conditions of the respiratory system. This may include consultations with pulmonologists, diagnostic testing (such as pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, and chest imaging), and management of conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, lung cancer screening, and other respiratory disorders.
  • Vascular Services: Focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the blood vessels outside of the heart and brain. This can include consultations with vascular specialists, non-invasive and invasive vascular imaging (such as ultrasound, CT angiography, and MR angiography), and management of conditions like peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins, and aortic aneurysms.
  • Advanced Cardiac Procedures: As part of a major medical center, the institute likely offers advanced cardiac interventions, potentially including complex stenting procedures, electrophysiology studies and ablations for arrhythmias, and surgical interventions when necessary, often in collaboration with cardiac surgeons within the UT network.
  • Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs: Providing structured exercise, education, and counseling to help patients recover from cardiac events, heart surgery, or pulmonary conditions and improve their overall cardiovascular and respiratory health.
  • Multidisciplinary Care Teams: A key feature of such institutes is the collaboration among specialists from different disciplines (cardiology, pulmonology, vascular surgery, etc.) to provide integrated and comprehensive care plans for patients with complex medical needs.
  • Access to the UT Network: Being part of the University of Tennessee network provides patients with easier access to a broader range of specialists, advanced diagnostic tools, and research opportunities, which can be particularly beneficial for managing complicated or rare conditions.

The appointment and scheduling is the worst that I have seen in the 30 years that I worked around health care! If I could give a zero I would!

They have taken great care of my wife here. Their knowledge and care is the very best we have experienced. The nurses and doctors have gone above and beyond to diagnose and treat her. We are so grateful for the care we receive here. They are always super busy but they stay informed on their patients. The nurses really make the difference. Bring a part of the UT network has made it easier as well for complicated issues.

Definitely a five star! They are professional and provide great service. The best experience I got rather than medical professional service, when my vehicle was stuck in their garage and they went out of their way to help me till security came. True kindness and compassion! Thank you!
