As a seasoned cardiologist, Dr. Nicolaos G. Abariotis, MD, likely offers a comprehensive suite of services encompassing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various cardiovascular diseases. These services typically begin with a thorough evaluation of a patient's medical history, including current symptoms, past illnesses, medications, and family history of heart conditions. A detailed physical examination, including careful auscultation (listening) of the heart and lungs, checking vital signs, and assessing other relevant physical indicators, would also be a standard part of the initial assessment. Based on this evaluation, Dr. Abariotis would likely order or perform a range of diagnostic tests to gain a clear understanding of the patient's cardiac health.

Common diagnostic procedures in cardiology that Dr. Abariotis might utilize or refer for include electrocardiograms (ECGs or EKGs) to measure the heart's electrical activity, echocardiograms (ultrasounds of the heart) to visualize its structure and function, Holter or event monitors to record heart rhythm over extended periods, stress tests (exercise or pharmacological) to evaluate the heart's response to exertion, and potentially vascular studies to assess the health of blood vessels. I've had 13 cardiac arrests, 11 in one day. On my 11-event day, Doc Abariotis was my caregiver. Years later I'm still ticking, I walk between 1 and 4 marathons every week, have low heart and respiration rates, and good labs. Doc is a combination of state-of-the-art (with many certifications in various aspects of medicine) and old school (he listens to my heart doing it's work). He is a God-send.

First time going to him was a pleasure, he is very thorough. Very honest, very caring. Very sweet Doctor I was told by another Doctor that I had congested heart failure and Doctor Abariotis confirm that I do not. He is a blessing and a rare find of a doctor that really cares about his patients and I really appreciate him. I used to work in a unit and when I say this Dr. Never missed a 5am round he was always there with patients! Love him.

Dr. Abariotis was my cardiologist when I lived in Chicago nine years ago. I loved and trusted him completely. I haven’t been able to find a doctor like him since I moved out of state until this year. Now she is going back to Chicago. He was tough on me but compassionate. He’s a no nonsense kind of doctor and I respected his advice and his devotion to his patients.

He has been treating my dad since March now when he went in with pneumonia and several other health problems. He has COPD emphysema, high cholesterol, CAD, and PVD to say the least, and Abariotis has done exceptional work in treating my father and improving his heart health. I feel confident in his methods for caring, and continuing to care for, my father. Thank you Dr. Abariotis for saving my dads life!
