He can be contacted at (972) 941-3100 or +1 972-941-3100 for inquiries. As a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Dr. Reuter has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in the field of cardiology. His practice aims to provide comprehensive cardiac care to patients in the Plano area.
The environment of Dr. Reuter's practice is situated within The HeartPlace Plano at Alliance Dr. One patient described their experience at this location as "wonderful," noting that they were checked in promptly with no waiting time. This suggests an efficient and organized reception process. The positive feedback also highlighted the attentiveness, kindness, and caring nature of the staff, contributing to a positive overall atmosphere. The patient did not feel rushed, indicating that while the process was quick, it was also thorough and patient-focused. This suggests that The HeartPlace Plano strives to create a welcoming and efficient environment for patients seeking cardiac care.
Dr. Reuter's services, as a cardiologist, would encompass a range of diagnostic, treatment, and management options for various heart conditions. These typically include consultations, physical examinations, ordering and interpreting cardiac tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and Holter monitoring. He would also be involved in developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing ongoing care for conditions like coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia. The positive patient review mentioned that Dr. Reuter was "thorough" and "answered all our questions," indicating a commitment to patient education and ensuring understanding of their cardiac health and next steps in their care. This suggests that his services are characterized by a comprehensive and communicative approach to cardiology.
Several features of Dr. Reuter's practice can be gleaned from the patient reviews. One notable feature is the perceived efficiency of the office, with a report of being checked in right away and processed quickly. Another positive feature highlighted is the attentiveness, kindness, and caring demeanor of the staff at The HeartPlace Plano. These aspects contribute to a positive patient experience and can build trust. Dr. Reuter himself is described as thorough, indicating a detailed and comprehensive approach to patient assessment and care. His willingness to answer all questions and ensure the patient feels confident about the next steps suggests a patient-centered approach where communication and understanding are prioritized. The fact that the patient and their mother came away feeling they could trust him with the mother's cardiology care underscores his ability to build rapport and instill confidence in his patients. However, it's important to also consider the negative review, which points to a potential issue with the receptionist's handling of appointment requests, particularly regarding insurance referrals. This suggests a possible inconsistency in administrative processes or customer service at the initial point of contact.
Promotional information about Dr. Reuter's practice is not explicitly provided in the given reviews. Typically, a physician's practice might promote its services through its website, affiliations with hospitals or medical groups, or through online directories. This could include highlighting the doctor's board certifications (like FACC), areas of special interest within cardiology, or any specific programs or technologies offered at The HeartPlace Plano. Without such explicit information, it is challenging to detail any promotional aspects. However, the positive patient testimonial, emphasizing the wonderful experience and the trust instilled by Dr. Reuter and his staff, serves as a strong implicit endorsement for his practice. Conversely, the negative review regarding the appointment scheduling process could be seen as a point needing improvement from a patient experience perspective.
The first patient review describes a very positive experience at The HeartPlace Plano with Dr. Reuter. The reviewer, who accompanied their mother, noted the lack of waiting time and the wonderful interaction with Dr. Reuter. They praised the staff for being attentive, kind, and caring while also being efficient. Importantly, they highlighted Dr. Reuter's thoroughness in addressing their questions and his ability to instill confidence regarding the mother's cardiology care. The reviewers expressed relief at finding a cardiology practice where they felt their time mattered and they were not treated as just another patient. This strong recommendation underscores the potential for excellent patient care and a positive experience with Dr. Reuter and his team. However, the second review presents a contrasting experience with the front office staff. The reviewer attempting to schedule an appointment reported a rude receptionist who rigidly insisted on a primary care referral despite the patient's insurance not requiring one. The lack of a callback from the office manager after a message was left further compounds this negative initial interaction. This review highlights a potential disconnect between the positive clinical experience reported by one patient and challenges in the administrative aspects of the practice, specifically appointment scheduling and customer service at the front desk.
In conclusion, for individuals in Plano, Texas, seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Dr. John E. Reuter, MD FACC, practicing at The HeartPlace Plano, presents a mixed picture based on the available reviews. On the one hand, a patient who saw Dr. Reuter praised his thoroughness, his patient-centered communication, and the positive and efficient environment of the clinic, including the attentive and caring staff. This suggests a high quality of clinical care and a positive in-person experience. On the other hand, a potential new patient reported a negative experience with the receptionist during an appointment scheduling attempt, citing rudeness and a lack of flexibility regarding referral requirements, as well as a failure to receive a follow-up call from the office manager. This indicates potential issues with the administrative aspects of the practice and the initial point of contact for new patients. Therefore, while Dr. Reuter appears to provide excellent cardiac care and fosters trust with his patients, prospective patients might want to be aware of potential inconsistencies in the administrative experience when contacting the office for the first time.

I called the doctor's office trying to make an appointment with Dr. John Reuter, but the receptionist insisted on getting a referral from primary care doctor before she would make an appointment for me, even though I told her that my insurance does not require referral to see a specialist. She was very rude, and worked like a robot, instead of a real person that would listen. Left a message for office manager to call back, but never did.
I was having some chest pains and my doctor wanted me to see a specialist. He was able to get Dr. Reuter to work me in. Other doctors were asking me to wait a month for an appointment. Everyone in the office was kind and professional. Dr. Reuter made me feel at ease. He is knowledgeable and explained everything. I feel much better just knowing I have such a concerned physician working on my health concerns!
Courteous and efficient staff. Dr. Reuter spends the right amount of time with patients, and gives the patient plenty of opportunity to ask questions. He is knowledgeable and personable and starts his appointments on time. Seems like a very well run practice.
