Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine Introduce
For individuals in Maywood, Illinois, and the surrounding areas seeking a facility specializing in "Heart Doctor Near Me" services along with comprehensive vascular care, the Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine, located at 2160 S 1st Ave, Maywood, IL 60153, USA, aims to provide a broad spectrum of cardiovascular services. You can reach them at their toll-free number (888) 584-7888 or their mobile number +1 888-584-7888 to inquire about their offerings. The address indicates a potential affiliation with Loyola University Medical Center, suggesting a connection to a larger healthcare system.
Given the address, the Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine is likely situated within the Loyola University Medical Center campus or an associated medical building. This typically implies a modern healthcare environment with access to advanced medical technologies and facilities necessary for comprehensive cardiac and vascular care. Patients can generally expect well-equipped examination rooms, diagnostic testing areas, and potentially cardiac catheterization labs and surgical suites if interventional procedures are performed on-site. Being part of a larger medical center often ensures adherence to established safety protocols and access to a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
As a center focused on both heart and vascular medicine, the services offered are likely to be comprehensive, addressing a wide range of conditions. Combining the category "Heart Doctor Near Me" with the hospital's name, potential services include:
- Cardiology Services:
- General cardiology consultations and evaluations.
- Preventative cardiology, including risk factor assessment and management (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, smoking cessation).
- Diagnostic cardiology, utilizing tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests (exercise and pharmacological), Holter and event monitoring, cardiac CT angiography (CTA), and nuclear cardiology studies.
- Interventional cardiology procedures, such as angioplasty and stent placement for coronary artery disease.
- Management of various heart conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
- Electrophysiology services for the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, potentially including pacemaker and defibrillator implantation.
- Vascular Medicine Services:
- Diagnosis and management of diseases affecting blood vessels outside the heart, including peripheral artery disease (PAD), carotid artery disease, venous disorders (deep vein thrombosis, varicose veins), and aortic aneurysms.
- Vascular diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound, angiography, and other imaging studies.
- Interventional vascular procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting of peripheral arteries, and treatment of venous disease.
- Cardiac and Vascular Surgery (Potentially): Depending on the scope of the center and its integration with Loyola, surgical interventions for complex heart and vascular conditions might be offered or closely coordinated.
- Rehabilitation Services: Cardiac and vascular rehabilitation programs to help patients recover and improve their cardiovascular health after procedures or events.
Based on the limited information available online, particularly the two patient reviews, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the center's features. However, we can objectively analyze the feedback provided:
- Potential for Appointment Delays and Administrative Issues: The first review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the difficulty in securing an appointment despite multiple referrals and calls over an extended period. The cancellation of the appointment due to a lack of communication regarding pre-appointment requirements raises concerns about the center's administrative efficiency and patient communication protocols.
- Concerns Regarding Social Worker Support and Patient Advocacy: The second review highlights issues with the uncooperative and rude behavior of a specific social worker, Ann Marie, in assisting with discharge planning and exploring rehabilitation options for a patient. The lack of direct communication with family members and the perceived pressure to choose a particular facility are significant concerns regarding patient support and advocacy.
It is important to note that these two reviews represent individual experiences and may not be indicative of the overall quality of medical care provided by the physicians and other clinical staff at the Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine. However, they do highlight potential challenges in the areas of appointment scheduling, communication, and social work support that prospective patients should be aware of.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for the Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine based on the provided text. Typically, hospitals and medical centers might promote specific services, highlight successful patient outcomes (with appropriate consent), or advertise new programs or technologies. The absence of such information in the provided data necessitates relying on other sources, such as the center's website (if available through Loyola Medicine) or independent reviews, to gain a broader understanding of any promotional aspects.
To provide a more objective assessment, it would be beneficial to explore the reputation of Loyola University Medical Center as a whole. Loyola is generally recognized as a reputable academic medical center with a strong cardiology and vascular program. The Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine's affiliation with Loyola likely means it adheres to the medical center's standards of care and benefits from its resources and expertise. However, the administrative and communication issues raised in the reviews warrant consideration.
Individuals considering the Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine for their "Heart Doctor Near Me" or vascular care needs should be aware of the potential administrative and communication challenges highlighted in the recent patient feedback. While the medical expertise within the center may be of a high standard due to its association with Loyola, prospective patients may want to inquire specifically about appointment scheduling processes, pre-appointment communication, and the availability and responsiveness of support staff, including social workers, if these aspects are crucial to their care experience.
In conclusion, the Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine in Maywood, IL, likely offers a comprehensive range of cardiac and vascular services due to its name and potential affiliation with Loyola University Medical Center. However, recent patient reviews raise concerns regarding appointment scheduling efficiency, communication about pre-appointment information, and the helpfulness of at least one social worker in discharge planning. While the quality of medical care provided by the physicians may be high, prospective local users should be aware of these potential administrative and support challenges and may want to seek further information or clarification when considering this facility for their heart and vascular care needs. Contacting the center at (888) 584-7888 may provide further insights, but it would also be prudent to seek additional reviews or information from other sources to obtain a well-rounded perspective.

My dad is currently a patient and we are trying to see what rehab facilit. His hospital appointment social worker Ann Marie has be rude and uncooperative. He is being forced into a facility because he is tired of being in the hospital and the process has been irritating and exhausting. We don't even know what are our options. When the social worker was ask to call me she told my dad to call me because he can handle his own business she doesn't need to talk to me.
