Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury Introduce
For individuals in Waterbury, CT, and the surrounding areas seeking a heart doctor within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category, Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury is located at 455 Chase Pkwy, Waterbury, CT 06708, USA. However, it is crucial for potential patients to be aware of recent feedback from individuals who have interacted with this practice, as their experiences highlight significant concerns regarding professionalism, patient care, and the handling of patient inquiries.
While specific details about the physical environment of Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury are not provided in the reviews, the negative feedback primarily focuses on the interactions with staff and the cardiologist, Dr. Stephen Widman. Potential patients should consider these reported experiences when evaluating this practice for their cardiac care needs.
The provided information contains concerning accounts from multiple patients regarding the services and overall experience at Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury. One patient explicitly advises, "Don’t go here if you’re young! The cardiologist will ignore your questions and concerns will not take your condition seriously." This serious accusation suggests a potential bias or lack of appropriate attention towards younger patients, which should be a significant consideration for individuals in that demographic seeking cardiac care.
Another patient's review corroborates issues with the cardiologist, Dr. Stephen Widman, stating, "I seen cardiologist Stephen Widman for my high blood pressure issues after being referred by my primary care doctor. Stephen basically told me I shouldn't be there and dismissed any questions & concerns I had despite having a history of uncontrolled high blood pressure." This account raises serious concerns about Dr. Widman's approach to patient care, particularly his alleged dismissal of a patient with a history of a relevant cardiac condition. The patient further reports being told that managing controlled high blood pressure is "not what they do," a statement that contradicts the understanding that high blood pressure is indeed a cardiovascular issue requiring monitoring and management by a cardiologist.
The same patient describes Dr. Widman as "bad and uncaring" and deems the office and cardiologist as "useless," indicating a profoundly negative experience and a lack of confidence in the care provided. This strong condemnation should serve as a significant warning for prospective patients.
Beyond the issues with the cardiologist, another significant concern raised in the reviews pertains to the unprofessional conduct of the front desk staff. One individual recounts a frustrating experience when calling the facility, stating, "when front desk answered call all they said was 'please hold' and had me on hold for 16 minutes! They did not advise me to continue holding or even apologize for having me on hold for so long." This level of disregard for a potential patient's time and the lack of basic professional courtesy is a serious indictment of the administrative operations of the practice. The reviewer's call for the facility to "do better and get it together!" underscores the significant dissatisfaction with the initial point of contact.
It is important to note that one reviewer did mention that "the nurse and the reception people are extremely nice however it stops there," suggesting a potential inconsistency in the quality of staff interactions, with the positive experience limited to the nurse and some reception staff, while the interactions with the cardiologist are reported as negative.
Given the consistent negative feedback regarding the cardiologist's dismissive behavior, particularly towards a patient with a relevant cardiac history, and the unprofessional conduct of the front desk staff, potential patients should exercise caution when considering Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury for their cardiac care. These reviews raise serious concerns about the quality of care and the overall patient experience at this facility.
The features of Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury, as indicated by the available negative reviews, unfortunately include:
- Potentially Dismissive Cardiologist: Allegations of ignoring patient questions and concerns, particularly from younger patients or those with conditions like high blood pressure.
- Lack of Seriousness Towards Patient Conditions: Reports of not taking patient conditions seriously, even when a history of uncontrolled high blood pressure is present.
- Unprofessional Front Desk Conduct: Instances of being put on hold for excessively long periods without acknowledgment or apology.
- Negative Overall Patient Experience: Patients expressing strong dissatisfaction and a feeling of being uncared for or ignored.
- Perceived Uselessness of Services: At least one patient deemed the office and cardiologist as useless for their cardiac needs.
The provided information does not include any details about services offered or promotional information. However, in light of the significant negative feedback concerning the quality of care and professionalism, any potential services or promotions would need to be weighed against the reported negative patient experiences.
For local users in Waterbury seeking a heart doctor within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category, it is strongly recommended to carefully consider the serious concerns raised in the recent patient reviews for Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury. The reported issues of a dismissive cardiologist and unprofessional front desk conduct are significant red flags that potential patients should not ignore. While further investigation and potentially seeking opinions from other sources are always advisable, the available feedback suggests that exploring alternative cardiac care providers in the Waterbury area might be a prudent course of action to ensure you receive the attentive, respectful, and high-quality care you deserve for your heart health.

I called this facility because they were top on the list. It is unfortunate how unprofessional they were, when front desk answered call all they said was "please hold" and had me on hold for 16 minutes! They did not advise me to continue holding or even apologize for having me on hold for so long. Y'all need to do better and get it together!
I’m not quite sure what to do. I’ve called several times to schedule my 6 month with Dr Nakhla. Nobody answers the phone! Nobody returns calls! The only reason I have 2 stars is because I think Dr Nakhla is great. Unfortunately, the ineptitude of this office is going to force me to go elsewhere. I can’t imagine I’ll ever see my test results.
Pathetic service to say the least. Doctors will never get back to you after your results are ready. But they are well equipped to follow up on your pending payments nevertheless. Please refrain from visiting this place if you expect a proper medical service
