For individuals in the Frankfort, Kentucky, area recovering from cardiac events or managing heart conditions, the Cardiac Rehab program at Frankfort Regional Medical Center offers a vital service focused on recovery, strengthening, and long-term heart health. Located within Frankfort Regional Medical Center at 299 Kings Daughters Dr, Frankfort, KY 40601, this program provides a supervised and supportive environment for patients to regain their physical and emotional well-being. If you are searching for "Heart Doctor Near Me" resources that extend beyond traditional medical appointments to include rehabilitation, this program is a valuable asset in your journey to better heart health.
Cardiac Rehab at Frankfort Regional Medical Center is a program designed to help individuals recover from heart attacks, heart surgery (such as bypass surgery or valve replacement), angioplasty and stenting, heart failure, and other cardiac conditions. While not a single "doctor," the program is led by a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, exercise specialists, and potentially cardiologists, who work collaboratively to create individualized rehabilitation plans for each patient. The environment is a dedicated space within the hospital where patients can engage in monitored exercise, receive education on heart-healthy living, and gain emotional support.
The services offered by Cardiac Rehab at Frankfort Regional Medical Center are comprehensive and tailored to the individual needs of each participant. Based on the patient reviews, these services include:
- Monitored Exercise Programs: Patients engage in structured exercise sessions while their heart rate and rhythm are closely monitored by trained staff. This ensures safety and allows for adjustments to the exercise intensity based on individual tolerance and progress.
- Education on Heart-Healthy Living: The program likely includes guidance on topics such as nutrition, medication management, stress reduction, and risk factor modification to support long-term cardiovascular health.
- Emotional Support: The staff fosters a supportive and caring environment, building relationships with patients and providing encouragement throughout their recovery journey.
- Individualized Care Plans: While not explicitly stated, cardiac rehabilitation programs typically involve an initial assessment and the development of a personalized plan based on the patient's specific condition, functional capacity, and goals.
A key feature of the Cardiac Rehab program at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, as highlighted by patient reviews, is the exceptional quality of the staff. Tricia and Elaine are specifically mentioned as being "excellent about building relationships with the patients" and described as "sincere, caring people" who "certainly have a lot of heart." This personal connection and genuine care can significantly enhance the patient's rehabilitation experience and motivation.
The facility itself is described as "small and sometimes cramped due to the number of patients needing their services" but "adequate and easily accessible from the front of the hospital." This suggests that while the program is popular and may experience space limitations, it is conveniently located within the medical center. One reviewer also noted that a "new equipment update would also be beneficial," indicating that while functional, the equipment might be due for modernization.
Another feature mentioned is the peace of mind that comes from being able to exercise while having your heart monitored. This provides a sense of security for patients who may be anxious about physical activity after a cardiac event. The monitoring allows for immediate detection and management of any potential problems.
One area for potential improvement mentioned by a reviewer is the lack of "texting abilities with patients" for staff communication. This suggests that current communication methods may be more traditional, and the adoption of more modern communication tools could enhance patient convenience and engagement.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the positive feedback regarding the staff's support and the program's effectiveness in aiding recovery can be seen as an implicit endorsement. For local users searching for "Heart Doctor Near Me" resources for post-cardiac event care, the Cardiac Rehab program at Frankfort Regional Medical Center offers a valuable service with a dedicated and caring team.
The environment of the Cardiac Rehab center within Frankfort Regional Medical Center is focused on facilitating exercise and education. The presence of monitoring equipment is a key feature, allowing staff to track patients' vital signs during exercise. While space may be limited at times due to the program's popularity, the accessibility from the front of the hospital makes it convenient for patients to attend their sessions.

Staff is wonderful and provide support. Due to popularity of program space is limiting. It often feels crowded. New equipment update would also be beneficial. It would also be nice if staff has texting abilities with patients.
