Amy O'neil Introduce
Navigating your heart health needs can feel overwhelming, but finding the right specialist in your local area is a crucial first step. If you're searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" in Waterford Township, Michigan, you might come across the name Amy O'neil. Located at 5210 Highland Rd Suite 200, Waterford Township, MI 48327, USA, Dr. O'neil's office provides cardiology services to the local community.
To connect with her office, you can call (248) 625-9099 or use the mobile number +1 248-625-9099. Having these contact details readily available can be helpful when scheduling appointments or seeking information about the services offered.
When choosing a heart doctor, understanding the environment and services provided is essential. Typically, a cardiologist's office like Dr. O'neil's would offer consultations, diagnostic testing, and treatment plans for various cardiovascular conditions. These services often include electrocardiograms (ECG or EKG), which measure the electrical activity of the heart; echocardiograms, using ultrasound to visualize the heart's structure and function; Holter monitoring, a portable device to record heart rhythm over an extended period; and stress tests, evaluating the heart's response to exercise. Depending on the specific focus of Dr. O'neil's practice, she may also manage conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), heart failure, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), and coronary artery disease.
Features of a cardiology practice often include a comfortable waiting area, private consultation rooms, and specialized equipment for diagnostic procedures. The staff, typically including nurses and administrative personnel, play a vital role in patient care, assisting with scheduling, insurance matters, and providing support during appointments. The overall aim is to create a professional and reassuring environment for individuals seeking cardiac care.
However, it's important to consider all available information when making healthcare decisions. Online reviews can offer insights into the experiences of other patients. In the case of Dr. Amy O'neil, some concerning feedback has been shared by individuals who have sought her care. One review mentions difficulties in receiving call backs regarding medication and questions, leading the patient to seek a new doctor after multiple instances. This suggests potential challenges in communication and follow-up care for some individuals.
Another, more detailed review recounts a patient's experience with suspected Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Dysautonomia. The reviewer states that despite presenting symptoms like low heart rate, lightheadedness, dizziness, and fainting episodes, their concerns about POTS/Dysautonomia were allegedly dismissed by Dr. O'neil over a ten-month period. The patient claims to have maintained a daily journal and communicated frequently with the nurse, yet felt unheard. Ultimately, this individual sought care at another medical facility where they were diagnosed with POTS/Dysautonomia after their medical history and symptoms were thoroughly reviewed. This review strongly advises others who suspect these conditions to seek a different cardiologist.
These reviews present a critical perspective on the patient experience with Dr. O'neil, highlighting potential issues with communication, follow-up, and the recognition of specific conditions. While online reviews are subjective and represent individual experiences, they can be valuable in forming a comprehensive understanding of a healthcare provider.
It is crucial for individuals seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" to weigh all available information, including the doctor's location and contact details, the typical services offered by a cardiologist, and any feedback shared by other patients. While Dr. O'neil's practice is geographically accessible to those in Waterford Township, the concerns raised in the provided reviews regarding communication and the handling of specific conditions should be carefully considered. Potential patients may want to seek additional opinions or explore other cardiologists in the area to ensure they find a healthcare provider who meets their individual needs and with whom they feel comfortable and confident in their care.
When choosing a cardiologist, factors beyond location are paramount. These include the doctor's expertise in specific cardiac conditions, their communication style, the responsiveness of their office staff, and the overall feeling of trust and confidence you have in their ability to provide quality care. It is always advisable to research multiple options, ask for recommendations from your primary care physician or other specialists, and potentially schedule initial consultations to determine the best fit for your heart health journey.
For individuals in Waterford Township and surrounding areas seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Amy O'neil's practice at 5210 Highland Rd Suite 200 offers a local option for cardiology services. However, the publicly available reviews suggest potential areas of concern regarding communication and the thorough investigation of certain conditions. It is recommended that prospective patients carefully consider this feedback alongside their own healthcare needs and preferences when making a decision about their cardiac care.

Don't expect a call back and you will be fine. If you need a call back regarding any questions on medication and such, good luck. Same issue three times. We are changing doctors.
Her response after a cardiac arrest that the patient should not have survived was to drop every ball thrown her way. 10 weeks after the arrest the patient had another heart attack and ended up at St Joes and had the procedures they needed within one day (on a weekend). Would not recommended McClaren for cardiology at all. Note: even the Emergency Response does not recommend McClaren.
She was very nice. And very informative
