Customer Testimonials in Detail:
The two provided customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the patient experience at WakeMed Heart & Vascular - Complex Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology:
- One patient recounts a critical experience involving syncope and the subsequent discovery of a total heart block during a cardiac catheterization at WakeMed. They express immense gratitude for the cardiac team and specifically Dr. Marc Silver, who immediately took their case. The patient highlights the rapid progression from diagnosis to pacemaker implantation and discharge, emphasizing the professionalism, friendliness, accommodation, and reassuring nature of the entire staff. They felt "treated like a VIP" and left with confidence in receiving the "best care available." This review strongly praises the acute care and the responsiveness of the team in a serious cardiac event.
- Conversely, the second review presents a significant concern regarding post-discharge care. This patient states that while the "surgery and hospital care was great," they experienced "several major complications" after discharge and felt "abandoned" by the center, being told to go to another cardiologist. This review raises serious questions about the continuity of care and follow-up support for patients experiencing complications after procedures.
These two reviews offer a mixed picture. While the first highlights excellent and timely care during a critical event, the second raises concerns about post-operative management. Potential patients should consider both perspectives when evaluating this center for their cardiac arrhythmia needs.
Conclusion:
WakeMed Heart & Vascular - Complex Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology in Raleigh offers specialized care for individuals with complex heart rhythm disorders. As part of the WakeMed system, it provides access to advanced diagnostic and treatment options, including electrophysiological studies and device implantation. While one patient reported an exceptional experience during a critical cardiac event, another expressed significant concerns about the lack of follow-up care after surgery. For local users seeking a "heart doctor near me" specializing in arrhythmias, this center offers focused expertise, but it is advisable to inquire about their protocols for post-procedural care and to consider the spectrum of patient experiences when making a decision. Contacting the center directly for more information is recommended for those considering their services.

Surgery and hospital care was great! After I was discharged I have had several major complications to the surgery and they don’t care. I was abandoned and told that I had to go to another cardiologist.
We came in with my mother to ED signs of stroke, absolutely great stroke team and everyone in ed and observation except DO White whom is extremely condescending and full of himself showing scare tactics to geriatric people in order to get his satisfaction, I highly recommend anyone steering clear of this DO WHITE , but everyone else we came into contact with was absolutely wonderful DO WHITE is Horrible!
Very attentive to condition. Imaging center very concerned to provide appropriate coordination with doctors.supportive!
Highly recommend Joshua Vega. I searched for a doctor to take my husband to regarding his high blood pressure and Dr Vega surpassed my expectations. My husband is my world and I wanted the best for him. Dr Vega is kind, compassionate and was well prepared when we arrived. He reviewed all of my husband’s previous records/scans/tests prior to our visit.
