UCSF Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center – Golden Gate Practice Introduce

For individuals in the San Francisco area searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," the UCSF Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center – Golden Gate Practice, situated at 1 Daniel Burnham Ct Suite 260, aims to provide services related to cardiovascular health. As part of the esteemed UCSF Health system, this practice focuses on both the treatment of existing heart conditions and proactive measures for preventing cardiovascular disease. This introduction seeks to offer local users an overview of what might be expected from this clinic, based on its affiliation and the limited direct information available, including some patient feedback found online.

The environment of the UCSF Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center – Golden Gate Practice, located within a medical office building, is likely designed to be a professional healthcare setting. Patients can anticipate a reception area for check-in, waiting areas for appointments, and private consultation rooms where they can discuss their health concerns with physicians and other healthcare providers. Examination rooms equipped for cardiac assessments would also be expected. As part of UCSF Health, the practice likely adheres to high standards of cleanliness and patient privacy. However, specific details about the clinic's ambiance or any unique environmental features are not available in the provided information.

The services offered at the UCSF Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center – Golden Gate Practice would typically encompass a range of cardiology-related care. This would likely include diagnostic services to evaluate heart health, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs), echocardiograms, and stress testing. Given the name of the center, a strong emphasis on preventative cardiology is also anticipated. This could involve risk assessments for heart disease, lifestyle counseling (including diet and exercise recommendations), and management of risk factors such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The practice would also likely provide medical management for existing cardiovascular conditions, working with patients to develop treatment plans and monitor their progress. Referrals to other specialists within the UCSF Health system for more complex procedures or specialized care would also be a part of their services.

Features of the UCSF Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center – Golden Gate Practice should include access to physicians and other healthcare professionals affiliated with UCSF Health. This affiliation often implies a commitment to evidence-based medicine and a high level of expertise. Patients might expect to be seen by cardiologists who are knowledgeable in the latest advancements in cardiovascular care and prevention. The integration within a larger academic medical center could also mean access to research and clinical trials, although this is not explicitly stated. The focus on both care and prevention suggests a comprehensive approach to heart health, aiming to address current issues while also working to reduce the risk of future problems.

However, it is important to consider the patient feedback provided. One review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the customer service and bedside manner experienced at the clinic, from both staff and doctors. This patient reported lengthy delays in obtaining an appointment and scheduling tests. Furthermore, they described a lack of empathy and unhelpful interaction with a physician, even after tests confirmed heart abnormalities. The patient felt their concerns were dismissed and that the doctor was quick to refer them to other specialists without offering effective management or identifying a root cause. This individual found their primary care provider to be more helpful and compassionate and advised others with complex issues to seek care elsewhere.

Another review highlights issues with administrative processes, specifically regarding the handling of a STAT referral. The patient reported that despite their primary doctor faxing the referral multiple times over a week, the clinic repeatedly stated they had not received it, leading to potential delays in urgent care. This feedback raises concerns about the efficiency of communication and administrative processes within the practice.

Given this feedback, while the UCSF affiliation suggests a high level of medical expertise, potential patients should be aware of the reported issues regarding customer service, appointment scheduling, and the handling of referrals. These reviews do not offer any information about promotional offers but instead provide direct accounts of patient experiences that should be considered alongside the general expectations associated with a UCSF-affiliated practice.

In conclusion, the UCSF Cardiovascular Care and Prevention Center – Golden Gate Practice, located in San Francisco, aims to provide comprehensive cardiac care with a focus on both treatment and prevention. While its affiliation with UCSF Health suggests access to knowledgeable medical professionals, potential patients should be aware of the negative feedback regarding customer service, appointment delays, and administrative processes. For local users searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," it is advisable to consider these patient experiences alongside the potential benefits of being associated with a major academic medical center. To learn more about the specific services offered and to make an informed decision, individuals may want to contact the clinic directly at (415) 502-5099 or +1 415-502-5099 to inquire about their approach to patient care and administrative procedures.

I have an urgent matter that needs immediate attention. My primary doctor filed a STAT referral and faxed them on June 30. I called them at least 5 times, and they keep saying "have not get the referral on file." Funny, it is July 7 now. I asked my primary care doctor to fax the referral twice and even had a PDF copy of the referral. I think I may have to go to an ER if they keep missing it.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at this office. I have always found the staff and providers to be helpful and caring. Things everywhere have been hectic since the pandemic and most places are short staffed and people stressed out. It’s no excuse to be rude but I’ve never had this happen to me here, before or after the pandemic.

They only accept payment by check and I have not been able to reach their receptionist over the last 2 months. Do not go here unless you want a $50 bill that you cant pay to go to collections.
