Sunil T. Mathew (MD) Introduce

For individuals in Norman, Oklahoma, and surrounding areas searching within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" platform category, it is crucial to carefully consider all available information when making healthcare decisions. This overview presents an objective summary of Dr. Sunil T. Mathew (MD), whose practice is located at 3500 Healthplex Pkwy STE 200, Norman, OK 73072, USA, based on the limited feedback shared by individuals who have consulted with him.

The address, 3500 Healthplex Pkwy STE 200, suggests that Dr. Mathew's clinic is situated within the Healthplex Parkway, a medical complex. While no specific details about the clinic's environment are provided in the reviews, it is likely a standard medical office setting with waiting areas, examination rooms, and necessary equipment for cardiac evaluations. However, the focus of the available feedback is overwhelmingly on the interactions with Dr. Mathew himself rather than the physical environment.

Based on the limited number of patient reviews available, significant and concerning issues have been raised regarding Dr. Sunil T. Mathew's professionalism, communication style, and diagnostic approach. These reviews highlight negative experiences that prospective patients should carefully consider.

One patient describes their experience as "horrible" and characterizes Dr. Mathew as "wildly disrespectful." Specific complaints include a significant delay of one hour for the appointment, a superficial review of multiple test results ("glazed over"), and the doctor allegedly attributing the patient's health issues solely to being overweight ("told me I was fat and just need to lose weight"). Furthermore, this reviewer states that when they attempted to discuss a finding from a test, as advised by the technician and the doctor who performed the test, Dr. Mathew reportedly left the room without a word and did not return within the brief five-minute consultation. This patient also claims that Dr. Mathew ordered bloodwork but failed to inform them that the results indicated hypothyroidism. The reviewer strongly advises others to "steer clear of this doctor if you want to be taken seriously" and suggests that their experience "honestly bordered on malpractice." They also note the absence of a feedback request email following this negative appointment.

Another patient recounts their experience seeking help for frequent presyncope episodes (15-30 times a day) that have been occurring since adolescence. This patient, referred to Dr. Mathew's office by their primary care physician, reports undergoing only "ONE singular echo stress test." Following this, Dr. Mathew allegedly attributed their near-fainting episodes to being "out of shape," despite the patient's active lifestyle involving caring for a young child and performing household tasks, all of which are now significantly impaired by the presyncope. The patient mentions that an urgent care physician suggested exploring the possibility of POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and advised them to discuss this with the cardiologist. However, according to this review, Dr. Mathew "brushed it off" and did not take their concerns seriously. This patient strongly advises against seeing Dr. Mathew, stating that he "does not listen or take anyone seriously" and emphasizing that their debilitating symptoms are not feigned.

The services that Dr. Mathew might offer as a cardiologist are not explicitly detailed, but typically include:

  • Cardiac consultations and evaluations.
  • Ordering and interpreting cardiac diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms and stress tests (as mentioned in one of the reviews).
  • Diagnosis and management of various heart conditions.
  • Potential for other cardiac procedures or referrals as needed.

However, the overwhelmingly negative feedback focuses on the manner in which these services were delivered, specifically highlighting a lack of respect, poor communication, and a dismissive attitude towards patient concerns and symptoms.

There is no promotional information available for Dr. Sunil T. Mathew in the provided text. The strong negative reviews serve as a significant deterrent based on the experiences of these patients.

For local users in Norman, OK, searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," the feedback regarding Dr. Sunil T. Mathew at 3500 Healthplex Pkwy STE 200 raises serious concerns. The allegations of disrespect, dismissiveness, inadequate communication of test results, and a failure to thoroughly investigate potentially serious symptoms should be carefully considered. Prospective patients who value respectful communication, thorough evaluation, and being taken seriously by their healthcare provider may want to exercise extreme caution or seek alternative cardiologists in the Norman area.

Given the nature of the complaints, it is advisable for individuals seeking cardiac care to prioritize a doctor who demonstrates empathy, actively listens to patient concerns, communicates effectively about test results and diagnoses, and conducts thorough investigations. The experiences shared by these reviewers suggest that Dr. Mathew may not consistently meet these expectations.

In conclusion, the available information regarding Dr. Sunil T. Mathew (MD) in Norman, OK, is limited to two strongly negative patient reviews. These reviews allege disrespectful behavior, poor communication, dismissal of symptoms, and a failure to adequately address patient concerns. Local users searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" are strongly advised to carefully consider this feedback and potentially seek alternative cardiologists who have demonstrated a more positive and respectful approach to patient care. The concerns raised in these reviews are significant and should not be overlooked when making important decisions about one's heart health.

Dr Mathew is great! Cares about his patients and listens to concerns. I highly recommend him. Reaching his office is impossible. They never return your call. We ended up going to his office in person.
