Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery Introduce

For individuals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and surrounding areas seeking specialized medical care within the category of "Heart Doctor Near Me," Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery, located at 7777 Hennessy Blvd Ste 8001, Baton Rouge, LA 70808, USA, offers a local option for surgical interventions related to the heart and chest. As part of a larger physician group associated with a well-known hospital system, this practice focuses on providing surgical expertise for a range of cardiothoracic conditions.

Situated within a professional building on Hennessy Boulevard, Suite 8001 likely provides a clinical setting for consultations and pre-operative and post-operative care. While specific details about the environment, such as waiting areas and examination rooms, are best obtained through direct contact or a visit, patients can generally expect a healthcare facility designed to accommodate the needs of individuals undergoing or recovering from surgical procedures. The association with Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group suggests a connection to a broader network of medical resources and expertise.

As a cardiothoracic surgery practice, Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery specializes in surgical procedures involving the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs within the chest. While a comprehensive list of all services offered would typically be available through direct inquiry, based on the nature of cardiothoracic surgery, we can infer several key areas of their specialization:

Cardiac Surgery: This includes a range of surgical procedures on the heart, such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) to improve blood flow to the heart, heart valve repair or replacement to address valve dysfunction, and surgery for congenital heart defects present at birth.

Thoracic Surgery: This encompasses surgical procedures on the lungs, esophagus, trachea, chest wall, and mediastinum (the space between the lungs). These procedures may address conditions such as lung cancer, esophageal cancer, emphysema, infections, and chest trauma.

Heart and Lung Transplantation: In select cases of severe heart or lung failure, cardiothoracic surgery practices may be involved in evaluating patients for and performing heart or lung transplantation.

Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques: Many modern cardiothoracic surgery practices utilize minimally invasive techniques, which involve smaller incisions, potentially leading to less pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times. It is advisable to inquire whether Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery offers such approaches for specific procedures.

Post-Operative Care and Management: Comprehensive care extends beyond the surgical procedure itself. Cardiothoracic surgery practices provide crucial post-operative care, including pain management, infection monitoring, rehabilitation guidance, and follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing and recovery.

Diagnostic Procedures: While primarily a surgical practice, they are also involved in interpreting diagnostic tests relevant to cardiothoracic conditions to determine the need for surgical intervention. This may include reviewing imaging studies, cardiac catheterization results, and pulmonary function tests.

The features of Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery, as perceived through the limited information available, present a concerning perspective based on the single patient review provided:

Specialized Surgical Focus: The practice specializes in cardiothoracic surgery, indicating a focused expertise in surgical interventions for heart and chest conditions.

Potential Issues with Post-Operative Care: The sole review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the post-operative care received, citing horrendous pain, a perceived lack of concern from medical professionals (Dr. Cassidy and NP Templeton), and alleged mismanagement of a post-surgical infection leading to an emergency room visit. This review raises serious concerns about the quality of care experienced by at least one patient.

Concerns Regarding Communication and Patient Support: The reviewer felt dismissed and unheard regarding their pain, suggesting potential issues with communication and the level of support provided to patients after surgery.

Given the severely negative nature of the only available patient review, it is critical for prospective patients to approach Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery with caution and to seek additional information and potentially multiple opinions regarding their care.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or specific features being highlighted by Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery. Given the serious concerns raised in the patient review, focusing on promotional aspects would be inappropriate without a more balanced and comprehensive understanding of the practice's overall performance and patient outcomes.

In conclusion, Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Cardiothoracic Surgery in Baton Rouge provides surgical services for conditions affecting the heart and chest. However, the single available patient review expresses extreme dissatisfaction with the post-operative care, communication, and management of complications. This feedback raises significant concerns that potential patients should carefully consider. Individuals seeking cardiothoracic surgical care in the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category are strongly advised to seek additional information, explore other healthcare providers, and potentially obtain multiple medical opinions to ensure they receive the best possible care. Contacting the practice directly at 7777 Hennessy Blvd Ste 8001, Baton Rouge, LA 70808, USA, or by phone at (225) 490-7224 or +1 225-490-7224 may provide further information, but the serious concerns raised in the review warrant thorough due diligence.

AWFUL. I had thoracic surgery done here 4 weeks ago. I'm in horrendous pain, and they absolutely do not care. Dr. Cassidy and NP Templeton are some of the worst people I've ever come a across. I was basically told I was lying about the pain I'm having and sent on my way. Templeton sent me home with an infection and didn't prescribe me antibiotics for 4 days, I ended up having to go to the ER. Please beware, DO NOT trust these people at this hospital.
