The hospital can be contacted by phone at (718) 470-7500 or via mobile at +1 718-470-7500. As a major medical center, LIJ Northwell offers a wide array of medical services, including specialized cardiac care.
As part of the Northwell Health network, LIJ Northwell benefits from the resources and expertise of a large integrated health system. Patients seeking cardiac care at LIJ Northwell can expect a comprehensive medical environment equipped with advanced technology and facilities necessary for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of various heart conditions. The hospital setting typically includes state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization labs, electrophysiology labs, cardiac imaging suites, and dedicated cardiac intensive care units. The environment is designed to support both inpatient and outpatient cardiac services, ensuring continuity of care for patients with diverse needs.
The range of cardiac services offered at LIJ Northwell would likely be extensive, catering to a wide spectrum of heart and vascular diseases. These services typically include non-invasive diagnostic testing such as electrocardiograms (ECG or EKG), echocardiograms (transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms), exercise stress tests, nuclear cardiology studies, and cardiac CT and MRI. The hospital also provides advanced interventional cardiology procedures, including coronary angiography and stenting, balloon angioplasty, and procedures for structural heart disease such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and mitral valve repair. For patients with heart rhythm disorders, LIJ Northwell would offer electrophysiology services, including diagnostic EP studies, ablation procedures for arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation, and the implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
Furthermore, LIJ Northwell would have a team of highly skilled cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, and other cardiac specialists who collaborate to provide comprehensive care. The presence of cardiac surgeons indicates the hospital's capacity to perform open-heart surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and heart valve surgery. The multidisciplinary approach ensures that patients receive individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific cardiac needs, with seamless coordination between different specialists involved in their care.
One of the provided reviews offers positive feedback regarding the hospital's responsiveness and the dedication of its doctors and nurses. The reviewer recounts a positive experience where LIJ Northwell provided thorough testing and surgical intervention for a severe infection, contrasting it with a different hospital's less comprehensive approach. This suggests a commitment to thorough patient evaluation and proactive treatment. The reviewer's statement that the hospital and its staff "go above and beyond for patients" is a strong endorsement of the quality of care provided in at least some areas of the hospital.
However, another review presents a contrasting experience, detailing significant issues with the emergency room environment and the perceived lack of consideration for cancer patients. The reviewer mentions noise disturbances, lack of monitoring, and a feeling of being mishandled despite having stage 4 cancer. While this review does not specifically pertain to cardiac care, it highlights potential inconsistencies in patient experience within different departments of a large hospital system. It underscores the importance for prospective cardiac patients to focus on the specific services and environment of the cardiology department.
For local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" within a hospital setting, LIJ Northwell, as part of the Northwell Health system, offers a wide range of advanced cardiac services and is likely to have experienced cardiologists on staff. Individuals with various heart conditions, from common issues to complex cardiac diseases requiring surgical intervention, would find the hospital equipped to handle their needs. The positive review regarding thorough care for a different medical issue suggests a general commitment to patient well-being, although the negative review indicates that experiences can vary.
When considering LIJ Northwell for cardiac care, local users may want to inquire specifically about the cardiology department, the expertise of the cardiologists, the facilities available for cardiac diagnosis and treatment, and patient testimonials or outcomes related to cardiac services. As a major hospital within a large health system, LIJ Northwell likely adheres to high medical standards and offers comprehensive care, but it's always beneficial for patients to gather specific information relevant to their cardiac needs.
In conclusion, LIJ Northwell (Long Island Jewish Medical Center) in Queens, NY, as part of Northwell Health, is a comprehensive medical center that likely provides a wide range of advanced cardiac services, making it a potential option for local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" within a hospital setting. While one review praises the thorough and dedicated care received, another highlights issues in a different department, suggesting that experiences can vary across the hospital. Prospective cardiac patients are encouraged to seek specific information about the cardiology services and physicians at LIJ Northwell to determine if it meets their individual healthcare needs.

This hospital & their doctors ( nurses) go above and beyond for patients. I took my brother there 3/23/25 for a hand infection from chemical. They did all different test etc. He was admitted to do a surgery whereas Queens General hospital send him home with burn gel and motrin. They deserve more than 5 stars.
I love this hospital. It’s very clean and I would recommend it to others. They solve the problem and the staff here are amazing.
