Leverne S. Fox MD Introduce
For local users in Boone, North Carolina, seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," this introduction provides an objective overview of Leverne S. Fox MD, whose practice is located at 178 NC-105 Extension Ste 202. Dr. Fox is a cardiologist serving the Boone community. This profile aims to synthesize the available patient feedback to offer insights into the environment of his practice, the services he likely provides, his features as perceived by patients, and any implicit information that might serve as "promotional" or cautionary notes for prospective patients.
The environment of Dr. Fox's office, as perceived by patients, presents a mixed picture. One reviewer describes the office atmosphere as very pleasant, noting that "Everyone is so nice at this office! From reception to nurses to Dr Fox, I felt listened to and cared for!" This suggests a patient-friendly and welcoming environment where individuals feel valued. However, a contrasting review paints a significantly different picture of the front office staff, specifically the receptionist. This reviewer states the receptionist is "very rude and will not listen to your concerns" and recounts difficulties in reaching the office and a lack of timely response to urgent messages from patients and referring medical professionals. This negative feedback raises concerns about the efficiency and professionalism of the administrative aspects of the practice. Local users should be aware of these differing perceptions regarding the office environment when considering Dr. Fox's services.
As a cardiologist, Dr. Fox likely provides a range of services related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. These typically include clinical consultations, where he would discuss patient symptoms, medical history, and risk factors for heart conditions. He would also conduct physical examinations, including listening to the heart. It is reasonable to assume that his practice offers or facilitates access to various diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and potentially Holter monitoring. As a specialist, Dr. Fox would also be involved in managing chronic heart conditions like hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias. The positive review mentioning finding "a good cardiologist in Boone" implies that Dr. Fox is competent in addressing a variety of cardiac issues. However, the lack of specific details about the breadth of his services in the provided reviews necessitates that local users may need to contact the office directly for a comprehensive list of services offered.
Several features of Dr. Fox emerge from the patient reviews. The positive review emphasizes his attentive and caring nature, stating, "I felt listened to and cared for!" and highlighting that he takes the necessary time with each patient. This suggests a patient-centered approach where thoroughness and attentiveness are prioritized. The reviewer also expresses the opinion that "We need more doctors like him," indicating a high level of satisfaction with Dr. Fox's medical care. However, this positive perception is significantly tempered by the negative review, which, while not directly criticizing Dr. Fox's medical abilities ("Dr. Fox may be a good physician"), strongly condemns the unprofessionalism and poor communication attributed to the receptionist. The difficulty in reaching the office and the alleged disregard for urgent messages are serious concerns that could impact a patient's access to timely care. Therefore, while Dr. Fox may possess strong clinical skills, the functionality and patient-friendliness of his practice appear to be significantly affected by the front office management, according to one reviewer.
In terms of promotional information, the positive patient review serves as an unsolicited endorsement of Dr. Fox's medical skills and bedside manner. The statement, "Finally I have found a good cardiologist in Boone," is a powerful recommendation for local users seeking a competent heart specialist. The reviewer's willingness to accept potential wait times ("If you have to wait, just remember he will take that amount of time with you too") suggests a belief that Dr. Fox's thoroughness justifies any scheduling inconveniences. This positive feedback can be seen as a key "promotional" aspect of his practice. Conversely, the negative review acts as a strong caution against the practice due to the perceived poor administrative handling, explicitly stating, "I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Especially if you have a urgent need because of the poor response to calls and fax from referring doctors and hospitals." This serves as a significant counterpoint to any positive impressions and highlights a critical area of concern for potential patients.
The contrasting reviews present a dilemma for local users. The positive feedback suggests that Dr. Fox himself provides quality medical care and has a good rapport with his patients. However, the negative feedback raises serious concerns about the accessibility of the practice and the professionalism of the administrative staff, which could significantly impact the overall patient experience, especially in urgent situations. Potential patients will need to weigh these two very different perspectives when considering Dr. Fox for their cardiac care needs.
The negative reviewer's emphasis on the need for a "good cardiologist" in Boone underscores the importance of cardiac care in the community. Their disappointment stems from the belief that the receptionist's shortcomings are undermining a potentially valuable medical practice. This highlights the crucial role of effective office management in delivering quality healthcare. Even a skilled physician may struggle to provide optimal care if the administrative aspects of their practice are not functioning efficiently and professionally.
In conclusion, Dr. Leverne S. Fox MD in Boone, NC, appears to be a cardiologist who is well-regarded by at least one patient for his thorough and caring approach to medical consultations. However, another patient reports significant issues with the professionalism and responsiveness of the front office staff, particularly the receptionist, which severely impacted their experience and led to a strong negative recommendation. Local users searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should carefully consider these contrasting reviews. While Dr. Fox may possess the necessary medical expertise, the reported administrative challenges could pose significant frustrations and potential risks, especially for patients with urgent cardiac needs. Prospective patients may wish to seek further information or clarification regarding the office's administrative practices before making a decision about their care.

Everyone is so nice at this office! From reception to nurses to Dr Fox, I felt listened to and cared for! Finally I have found a good cardiologist in Boone. If you have to wait, just remember he will take that amount of time with you too. We need more doctors like him.
I had my first appointment today 6/1/23 and everyone was amazing. I’m a retired nurse and couldn’t have asked for better care. From check-in, getting a cardiac monitor and explanations about all my upcoming tests. I will highly recommend.
Dr. Fox is the ONLY doctor that takes time to actually investigate the patient's issues. He explains things in a way that is easy to apply and understand. This is how doctors should treat their patients--not the 5 minute in and out that corporate healthcare has forced on them. He is very kind and cares about his patients.
Wonderful visit with my Momma, the doctor answered all my questions and went above and beyond to find out Moms underlying issues regarding her low oxygen level! He even called me to follow-up! I was so pleased to see how well they took care of my Mom!
