Lehigh Valley Health Network is a comprehensive healthcare system, and this Scranton location likely offers a range of medical laboratory services to support diagnosis and treatment. While the provided information does not detail the specific environment of this suite, medical laboratory settings typically prioritize efficiency and accuracy in processing tests. As part of a larger network, this location likely adheres to established protocols and quality standards.
As a medical laboratory associated with a health network, the services offered would generally include a variety of diagnostic tests. These often support numerous medical specialties, potentially including cardiology, even though the platform category is "Heart Doctor Near Me." Common medical lab services include:
- Blood tests: Covering a wide range of analyses for various health conditions.
- Urine tests: For evaluating kidney function and detecting infections.
- Microbiology: Culturing and identifying bacteria and other microorganisms.
- Pathology: Examining tissues and cells for signs of disease.
- Potentially, specialized tests depending on the network's capabilities.
However, the provided information includes feedback from individuals who identify themselves as patients or family members of patients who have interacted with the broader Lehigh Valley Health Network system. It is important to consider these experiences when evaluating the services.
One reviewer recounts a negative experience with scheduling an appointment at an ENT department within the network. They describe a significant delay of three months for the initial appointment, which was then canceled because it was scheduled on a day the doctor was unavailable. The subsequent rescheduling offered was another three months later, leading to a potential six-month wait for an appointment and likely longer for treatment. This review highlights potential issues with appointment scheduling and communication within at least one part of the Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Another lengthy review shares a deeply personal and critical account of the care the reviewer's mother received from doctors within the Lehigh Valley Health Network (referred to as "delata medix or whatever they are calling themselves now"). This individual details their mother's diagnosis and treatment for renal cell carcinoma over many years. While initially deemed cancer-free after five years, the cancer recurred in her lungs eleven years later. The reviewer expresses a strong belief that the initial doctors within the network failed their mother, particularly regarding the interpretation of spots on her lungs early on. This review is a serious indictment of the perceived quality of care in this specific case, leading to the patient's passing.
Given these reviews, it is challenging to present promotional information in a positive light. Instead, it is crucial to objectively acknowledge the feedback provided by these reviewers. For individuals seeking a "Medical Lab Near Me" that is part of Lehigh Valley Health Network, this information underscores the importance of considering all available feedback regarding the network's services and patient experiences.
When choosing a medical laboratory, factors such as convenience, the range of tests offered, the efficiency of processing, and the overall reputation for patient care and accuracy are typically important. While the Scranton location offers geographical convenience for some, the broader network experiences shared in the reviews raise concerns about aspects of patient care and scheduling.
For those in the Scranton, PA area looking for medical lab services potentially associated with their healthcare providers within Lehigh Valley Health Network, this location at Lackawanna Avenue is an option. However, the publicly available reviews suggest that prospective patients should be aware of the reported issues with appointment scheduling in some departments and the serious concerns raised about the quality of medical care in a specific cancer case within the network.
To make an informed decision about your healthcare and medical lab needs, you may wish to seek additional information, perhaps by consulting with your primary care physician or other specialists who may have experience with Lehigh Valley Health Network's laboratory services in Scranton. You might also look for other reviews or quality ratings of the network and its facilities.
The provided reviews serve as a reminder that while a medical lab is a component of healthcare, the overall experience within a health network can significantly impact patients. It is advisable to consider the broader context of care when choosing a lab, especially if it is closely tied to a particular healthcare system.
If you are considering using the Lehigh Valley Health Network medical lab in Scranton, you may want to inquire about their specific laboratory services, their processes for ensuring timely and accurate results, and how they coordinate with other healthcare providers within the network. You can contact them at the provided phone numbers to ask these questions directly.

Scheduled an appointment at ENT. The earliest they could schedule me is 3 months out. I waited three months then they cancelled because it was scheduled on a day the doctor will not be in. I have no idea why they would allow the scheduling if appoints on "days the doctor is not in". The earliest the could schedule me after cancelling is 3 more months. Expect to wait 6 months for an appointment and probably longer to get treatment.
Poorly run organization. Unfortunately they ignore input and feedback from patients. Management is impossible to get in touch with and they never return messages. They are a money making company that is not below retaliation and setting up unnecessary appointments. Patrick Simonson has lost control of the Scranton office.
