Larry Chinitz Introduce

For individuals in the New York City area seeking a heart doctor specializing in electrophysiology within the platform category "Heart Doctor Near Me," we present an overview of Dr. Larry Chinitz, practicing at 530 1st Avenue HCC 6th Floor, New York, NY 10016, USA. Dr. Chinitz is associated with NYU Langone, a prominent medical center, and his expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders.

Dr. Chinitz's office is located on the 6th floor of the HCC building at NYU Langone's 1st Avenue campus. While specific details about the office environment are not extensively described in the provided reviews, being part of a major medical center like NYU Langone suggests a professional and well-equipped setting for consultations, examinations, and potentially minor procedures. One positive review mentions his Physician Assistant, Boris, highlighting his role in explaining medical information clearly to patients during follow-up appointments. This suggests a collaborative and supportive environment within the office. For specific details about the clinic's atmosphere and facilities, direct contact with NYU Langone is recommended.

As a cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Chinitz specializes in the electrical activities of the heart. His services likely include the diagnosis and treatment of various heart rhythm abnormalities, such as arrhythmias. One patient review mentions undergoing an ablation procedure performed by Dr. Chinitz. Cardiac ablation is a procedure used to treat arrhythmias by scarring or destroying tissue in the heart that is causing the irregular heartbeat. The fact that this procedure was performed indicates that Dr. Chinitz offers this specialized service. The positive outcome for another patient's mother, who underwent a heart procedure performed by Dr. Chinitz, further suggests his involvement in interventional cardiology.

The features of Dr. Chinitz, as reflected in the provided reviews, present a dichotomy of experiences. One patient offers high praise for Dr. Chinitz and his PA, Boris. They recount a successful heart procedure performed on their mother, during which Dr. Chinitz not only addressed the initial condition but also identified and resolved another underlying problem. The reviewer specifically commends Dr. Chinitz's skill, referring to him as bringing his "A" game into the operating room. Additionally, they highlight Boris's ability to explain the medical details in an understandable way during the follow-up, even providing written information for the patient. This positive experience underscores Dr. Chinitz's surgical expertise and the supportive role of his PA in patient education and care.

However, another patient's experience stands in stark contrast. This review details an unsuccessful ablation procedure several years prior. The patient, who has anesthetic resistances (common in individuals with hEDS and red hair), reports waking up during the procedure and experiencing significant discomfort while the medical team allegedly laughed and joked. Following the procedure, the patient claims that Dr. Chinitz accused them of being a drug addict, seemingly due to a lack of understanding regarding anesthetic resistances. This negative account raises serious concerns about patient communication, bedside manner, and awareness of specific patient conditions.

The significant discrepancy between these two reviews highlights the importance of considering multiple perspectives when evaluating a physician. While one patient experienced successful treatment and appreciated the care provided by Dr. Chinitz and his PA, another reported a distressing and negative experience during and after a procedure. This suggests that individual patient experiences with Dr. Chinitz can vary considerably.

In conclusion, Dr. Larry Chinitz is a cardiac electrophysiologist practicing at NYU Langone in New York City, specializing in procedures such as cardiac ablation and other interventions for heart rhythm disorders. One patient account praises his surgical skills and the supportive care provided by his PA. However, another patient reports a very negative experience involving a lack of awareness of their medical condition, poor communication, and an uncomfortable experience during a procedure. These contrasting reviews suggest that while some patients may have positive outcomes with Dr. Chinitz, others may have significantly different experiences. Individuals considering Dr. Chinitz for their cardiac electrophysiology needs should be aware of these differing perspectives and may wish to seek further information or consider their comfort level based on these accounts.

For local users navigating the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category and considering Dr. Chinitz for cardiac electrophysiology services, it is crucial to weigh the available patient experiences. The positive review highlights successful treatment and good communication from his PA, while the negative review raises serious concerns about patient care and communication during a procedure. Potential patients may want to inquire specifically about Dr. Chinitz's experience with procedures like ablation and his approach to managing patients with known sensitivities or complex medical histories. Gathering additional information through consultations and potentially seeking second opinions may be beneficial in making an informed decision about their cardiac care.

The provided information does not include any specific promotional offers related to Dr. Chinitz's services. Therefore, local users should focus on the available patient feedback and conduct thorough consultations to determine if his expertise and approach align with their individual needs and preferences.

I had an ablation in 2021- Dr. Chinitz explained to me what to expect and that it may need to be done again in the future. Since then I have run two NYC Marathons post ablation. Recently (2025), some afib has returned and they were easy to schedule.

He is such a great doctor. Made me feel so calm and he explained my whole procedure to me. It was a success.
