Houston Cardiovascular Associates Introduce

For individuals in the Texas Medical Center area of Houston seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Houston Cardiovascular Associates, located at 5115 Fannin St Suite 801, Houston, TX 77004, USA, offers a range of cardiovascular services. They can be contacted by phone at (713) 790-0841 or their mobile line at +1 713-790-0841. While the practice has received positive feedback regarding its cardiologists and nursing staff, some patients have reported significant challenges with the administrative and operational aspects of the clinic.

When searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," local users typically prioritize the expertise and bedside manner of the physicians and the quality of medical care provided. Reviews indicate that Houston Cardiovascular Associates has commendable medical professionals within their team. One patient expresses full confidence in their cardiologist, Dr. Trachtenberg, as well as the nursing staff, stating their thankfulness to be under their care. Another patient, who now resides in Northern California, continues to fly to Houston to see Dr. Nishikawa due to his exceptional patience, thorough explanations, and caring bedside manner. This speaks highly of the clinical skills and patient-focused approach of at least two of the cardiologists at this location.

Houston Cardiovascular Associates likely offers a range of cardiology services, which typically include:

  • Clinical Consultations: Comprehensive evaluations of patients' cardiovascular health, including medical history review and physical examinations.
  • Electrocardiograms (ECGs): Basic diagnostic tests to measure the electrical activity of the heart.
  • Echocardiograms: Ultrasound imaging of the heart to assess its structure and function.
  • Stress Testing: Evaluation of the heart's performance during physical exertion to detect potential issues like ischemia.
  • Holter and Event Monitoring: Continuous or intermittent recording of the heart's electrical activity to identify irregular heart rhythms.
  • Management of Cardiovascular Conditions: Providing medical treatment and ongoing care for conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
  • Preventive Cardiology: Counseling on lifestyle modifications and risk factor management to prevent heart disease.

The environment of Houston Cardiovascular Associates, located in Suite 801 on Fannin Street within the Texas Medical Center, would typically be a medical office setting. Patients can expect a waiting area, examination rooms, and areas for conducting diagnostic tests. The overall atmosphere would likely be professional, though specific details about the clinic's ambiance are not provided in the reviews.

However, the patient reviews also highlight significant operational challenges at Houston Cardiovascular Associates that potential local users seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should be aware of. One detailed review outlines several areas of concern:

  • Archaic Phone System: The phone system is described as difficult to navigate, with no live person answering and a long menu to leave a message for the doctor. This can create frustration for patients trying to contact the clinic.
  • Unreliable In-House Testing Service: One patient's experience with trying to get a Holter monitor installed was fraught with issues, including a lack of stock, a missed callback, and confusion regarding appointment times. The technician was also reportedly delayed due to other tasks. This raises concerns about the efficiency and reliability of their in-house diagnostic services.
  • Lack of Communication with Doctors: The review mentions difficulty in communicating with the doctor, with voicemail responses taking up to two days. Additionally, there seems to be no reliable way to learn test results.
  • Issues with Patient Portal Access: A patient reported applying for access to their online portal a month prior without receiving any response, casting doubt on its functionality or the efficiency of the access process.

These operational issues stand in stark contrast to the positive feedback regarding the medical staff. While patients express confidence in their cardiologists and nurses, the administrative hurdles appear to significantly detract from the overall patient experience. This suggests a potential disconnect between the quality of medical care and the efficiency of the clinic's operations.

Another review mentions a negative interaction with a technician during a morning test appointment, describing the technician as rushed and unfriendly. This highlights a potential inconsistency in the patient experience with the broader staff, even as individual doctors and nurses receive high praise.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Houston Cardiovascular Associates in the provided data. Medical practices may occasionally offer community health events or participate in hospital-wide initiatives, but no such information is mentioned in the reviews. Individuals interested in learning more about the practice, including accepted insurance plans, should contact them directly.

In conclusion, Houston Cardiovascular Associates on Fannin Street in the Texas Medical Center offers the expertise of well-regarded cardiologists like Dr. Trachtenberg and Dr. Nishikawa, along with a supportive nursing staff. Patients seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" may be drawn to the positive feedback regarding the medical care provided. However, potential users should also be aware of the significant operational challenges highlighted in patient reviews, including an archaic phone system, unreliable in-house testing, difficulties in communicating with doctors, and issues with the patient portal. While the medical care itself seems to be of high quality, the administrative aspects of the practice appear to need improvement to ensure a positive overall patient experience. Individuals considering this practice should weigh the positive feedback about the medical staff against the reported operational issues and may want to inquire specifically about these concerns when contacting the clinic at (713) 790-0841 or +1 713-790-0841.

HCVA has to collect your full deductible upfront before any testing can be done. They will then reimburse you after they receive whatever they get paid from billing the insurance. This new process will cost your business significantly.

Firstly, I really love seeing Dr. Michael Stephen. He’s a wonderful doctor with a wonderful bedside manner who listens. the new facility is very lovely,, yet I don’t feel so secure in their parking garage. If they added Valet parking, that would help me feel more secure. FYI, I am a senior citizen with limited mobility.
