Edward M. Lee, MD Introduce
For individuals in Fullerton, California, seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Edward M. Lee, MD, practicing at 100 E Valencia Mesa Dr Suite 206, Fullerton, CA 92835, USA, is a cardiologist whose medical expertise has been acknowledged by patients. However, the available online reviews predominantly focus on significant challenges experienced with the office staff and nursing support, which potential patients should carefully consider.
While the reviews do not provide specific details about the environment of Dr. Lee's office, patients can generally expect a standard medical office setting. This typically includes a reception area for check-in and waiting, private examination rooms for consultations and assessments, and possibly areas equipped for basic cardiac testing. The primary aim of such an environment is to facilitate medical consultations and examinations effectively.
As a cardiologist, Edward M. Lee, MD, is expected to offer a range of services related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. These services typically include:
- Comprehensive Cardiac Evaluations: This involves a thorough assessment of a patient's heart health, including a review of their medical history, physical examinations, and discussions about any symptoms or risk factors.
- Diagnostic Testing: To accurately diagnose and monitor heart conditions, Dr. Lee likely utilizes various diagnostic procedures, such as electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and other relevant cardiac assessments.
- Management of Heart Conditions: Cardiologists manage a wide spectrum of cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension (high blood pressure), coronary artery disease (angina, heart attacks), heart failure, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), and valvular heart disease. Treatment plans may involve medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with other specialists when necessary.
- Preventive Cardiology: Dr. Lee may also provide guidance on lifestyle modifications and risk factor management to help patients reduce their risk of developing heart disease.
- Post-Surgical Care: For patients who have undergone cardiac surgery, Dr. Lee would likely be involved in the follow-up care and management of their recovery.
The available online reviews for Dr. Edward M. Lee present a divided perspective. One reviewer, whose father has been a patient for several years, describes Dr. Lee as "a very good doctor." However, this positive assessment of Dr. Lee's medical skills is starkly contrasted by a one-star rating attributed to the "office staff." The reviewer details a frustrating experience involving expired lab orders, a missed communication about the expiration, the difficulty of transporting an elderly patient in a transport chair for the unnecessary lab visit, and the subsequent cancellation of the doctor's appointment. The reviewer also reported being put on hold for an extended period while trying to reschedule, ultimately leading to their decision to seek a cardiologist with "better office staff." This review underscores significant concerns about the administrative efficiency and communication within Dr. Lee's practice.
Another reviewer echoes the sentiment of Dr. Lee's technical proficiency, awarding him "5 stars" in this regard. However, their experience with his nurse is described in extremely negative terms ("negative stars," "worst personnel or nurse I have ever seen"). This review cites critical errors in prescription refills for a post-surgery cardiac patient, a consistent pattern of offloading tasks to others or different departments, and repeated instances of incorrect information and mistakes. The reviewer emphasizes the importance of aftercare and strongly urges Dr. Lee to hire a new nurse, highlighting the detrimental impact of the current nurse's disorganization on patient care and their families. This review suggests a severe breakdown in the crucial nursing support aspect of Dr. Lee's practice.
Based on these reviews, a key feature of Dr. Lee's practice appears to be his recognized technical skill and expertise as a cardiologist. However, this strength is significantly undermined by the reported inefficiencies and errors of the office staff and nursing support. The lack of organized administrative processes and reliable nursing care could severely impact the overall patient experience, potentially leading to miscommunications, delays in care, and even medical errors.
Currently, there is no promotional information available online for Dr. Edward M. Lee based on the provided data. Therefore, there are no specific offers or unique benefits to highlight. Potential patients must weigh the reported positive assessment of Dr. Lee's technical skills against the significant concerns raised about the supporting staff.
For local users in Fullerton, California, searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Edward M. Lee, MD, located on E Valencia Mesa Dr, presents a complex picture. While he is acknowledged for his medical abilities by some patients, there are serious concerns regarding the competence and efficiency of his office staff and nursing support. Individuals considering Dr. Lee should be aware of these reported issues, as they can significantly affect the ease of accessing care, the accuracy of administrative tasks (like lab orders and appointment scheduling), and the reliability of crucial nursing functions (such as prescription refills and aftercare coordination). Patients who prioritize seamless administrative processes and dependable nursing support may want to exercise caution and consider other cardiology practices in the Fullerton area that have more positive feedback regarding their staff. Conversely, patients who primarily focus on the doctor's technical expertise and are willing to navigate potential administrative hurdles might still consider Dr. Lee. Ultimately, potential patients should weigh these factors carefully and may wish to seek further information or explore alternative options to ensure a comprehensive and satisfactory healthcare experience.
In conclusion, Edward M. Lee, MD, in Fullerton, CA, is recognized by some patients for his skill as a cardiologist. However, the publicly available reviews raise significant red flags regarding the performance of his office staff and nursing support. These concerns include issues with lab orders, appointment scheduling, communication, prescription refills, and overall organization. Local users seeking a heart doctor should carefully consider these reported shortcomings, as they can have a substantial impact on the quality of care and the overall patient experience. While the doctor's technical expertise is important, a well-functioning and reliable support staff is equally crucial for providing comprehensive and patient-centered cardiovascular care. Potential patients may want to explore other cardiologists in the area who have more consistently positive feedback regarding both their medical skills and their administrative and nursing teams.

My 80 year old mother saw this doctor for a consultation recently. She was treated so badly by this doctor, she was in tears. He was unprofessional, rude, mean, disrespectful, very short with her when she asked him questions (almost cranky with her) and no bedside manners. I don’t know what his problem was but no wonder why he has such low customer service reviews. My mother will be changing her cardiologist for sure.
My dad sees Dr. Lee for his CHF. He is an excellent cardiologist and really listens to his patients. He followed my Dad all through his hospitalization and outpatient. I have been a registered nurse for 30 years, and have worked with many heart patients and MDs. Dr. Lee is very good and his office runs like a well oiled machine.
Recently had heart attack went to dr Lee some of his staff were kinda rude and made you feel like you where bothering them and doctor Lee was very flat no compassion didn’t want to answer questions made you feel like it was your fault you had a heart attack had to ask questions to get information out of him will get a new cardiologist, very disappointed in him why be a doctor if everyone bothers you
