Dr. Yoel R. Vivas, MD Introduce
For individuals in Delray Beach, Florida, seeking a “Heart Doctor Near Me,” Dr. Yoel R. Vivas, MD, located at 5258 Linton Blvd STE 106, Delray Beach, FL 33484, is a cardiologist practicing in the area. When choosing a healthcare provider, it is crucial to consider all available information, including patient experiences, to make an informed decision about your heart health. The limited reviews available for Dr. Vivas present a complex and somewhat concerning picture that warrants careful consideration.
Information regarding the specific environment of Dr. Vivas’s office is not detailed in the provided reviews. Typically, a cardiologist’s office would include consultation rooms, examination areas, and possibly facilities for basic cardiac testing. The focus of the existing feedback is primarily on the doctor’s actions during critical medical events and administrative practices.
As a cardiologist, Dr. Yoel R. Vivas, MD, likely offers a range of services related to heart health, which generally include:
- Cardiac Consultations: Appointments to discuss heart-related concerns, medical history, and potential treatment plans.
- Diagnostic Testing: Utilizing tools such as electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG) to assess heart rhythm and electrical activity, and potentially other non-invasive tests like echocardiograms or stress tests depending on the office capabilities and affiliations.
- Management of Heart Conditions: Providing care for patients with various cardiac conditions, such as arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and heart failure.
- Cardioversion Procedures: A medical procedure used to restore a normal heart rhythm in people with certain types of abnormal heartbeats (arrhythmias). One review specifically mentions Dr. Vivas performing this procedure.
- Guidance on Cardiac Procedures: Discussing and potentially recommending various cardiac procedures based on a patient’s condition. One review touches on a patient’s perspective regarding unwanted procedures.
The features and patient experiences associated with Dr. Vivas, as gleaned from the limited reviews, are particularly noteworthy and require careful attention. One review describes a critical situation where the patient was in the hospital and recounts Dr. Vivas performing multiple cardioversions, including one instance where he used his entire body weight on the paddles to successfully restore the patient’s life. This account, while dramatic, is presented from the perspective of a patient who, despite being resuscitated, expresses a profound lack of desire to have been brought back and describes their subsequent life as a “living hell.” This review also includes a strong statement advising others not to let their doctors scare them into procedures they do not want, suggesting a potential communication or philosophical difference between the doctor and the patient regarding the course of treatment.
Another review details a negative experience regarding administrative practices. This patient had a procedure scheduled, completed pre-operative requirements such as registration and blood work, only to have the procedure canceled late on a Friday, allegedly due to hospital overbooking. However, upon contacting the hospital, the patient was informed that the cancellation was initiated by the doctor’s office, indicating a potential misrepresentation of the reason for cancellation. Furthermore, the short notice of the cancellation and the impact on the patient’s family traveling to be present are significant points of dissatisfaction. This review concludes with the patient’s intention to seek a new doctor, citing the cancellation and the perceived dishonesty as “shameful.”
These two reviews, while limited in number, present significant concerns regarding both communication styles, the consideration of a patient’s wishes in critical situations, and administrative transparency. The dramatic account of the cardioversion raises questions about the doctor-patient relationship and the patient’s autonomy and quality of life post-procedure. The second review highlights potential issues with the doctor’s office’s communication and honesty regarding scheduling changes.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Dr. Yoel R. Vivas, MD, based on the provided text. Individuals interested in learning more about Dr. Vivas’s practice, his specific areas of expertise, or any potential new patient information should contact his office directly at (561) 303-3491 or +1 561-303-3491. Inquiring about consultation procedures, the types of cardiac conditions he manages, and the hospital affiliations might provide further insight.
In conclusion, for those in Delray Beach, Florida, seeking a “Heart Doctor Near Me,” the available reviews for Dr. Yoel R. Vivas, MD, present a complex and cautionary picture. While one account describes a life-saving intervention, it is followed by the patient’s profound regret about the outcome and a warning about unwanted procedures. The other review details issues with communication and transparency regarding a canceled procedure. Prospective patients should carefully consider these experiences and seek additional information and potentially other opinions before making a decision about their cardiac care with Dr. Vivas. It is crucial to have open and honest communication with any healthcare provider to ensure your values and preferences are respected in your treatment plan.

Had a procedure scheduled for Monday. Went to hospital registered, had blood work done. I was notified late Friday that my procedures cancelled. They blamed hospital overbooking. I called hospital and they informed me that hospital does not do that. It was doctors office who cancelled. They lied. Didn't give me decent notice and my family flying in to be here during procedure. I will be looking for a new doctor. Shameful
Thank you Dr Vivas for the best treatment and looking after my dad. Less than 4 hours out of atrial fib Ablation and feels amazing! Miracle! We are very grateful ❤️🙏
