Dr. Paul A. Kirschbaum, MD Introduce

For individuals in Decatur, Georgia, and the surrounding areas seeking specialized cardiovascular care, the platform category "Heart Doctor Near Me" offers a way to connect with local physicians. Within this category, we introduce Dr. Paul A. Kirschbaum, MD, practicing at 2665 N Decatur Rd #260, Decatur, GA 30033, USA. Understanding the experiences of other patients can be crucial when choosing a healthcare provider. The following introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Dr. Kirschbaum's practice based on recent customer reviews available online, which present contrasting perspectives.

One review offers high praise for Dr. Kirschbaum's surgical skills and his reassuring manner during a critical time. The reviewer recounts that their daughter was born on February 24th, and just two days later, on February 26th, Dr. Kirschbaum performed the first of three open-heart surgeries on their newborn. The reviewer met Dr. Kirschbaum prior to giving birth and appreciated his reassurance that their baby would be fine, which helped to alleviate their fear. During the eight-hour surgery, the reviewer received hourly updates, expressing gratitude for having Dr. Kirschbaum as their daughter's first surgeon. This testimonial strongly highlights Dr. Kirschbaum's expertise in pediatric cardiac surgery, his ability to communicate with anxious parents, and his commitment to keeping families informed during critical procedures.

In contrast, another review presents a significantly different experience, expressing a lack of confidence in Dr. Kirschbaum. This patient reported feeling that Dr. Kirschbaum had not reviewed their notes prior to the appointment. The patient explicitly stated that they had a leaking mitral valve, yet they felt that Dr. Kirschbaum proceeded to explain basic heart anatomy ("doors in heart") without acknowledging the specific condition they had just mentioned. The patient also noted that if Dr. Kirschbaum had reviewed his charts, he would have seen that this was not their first visit. While acknowledging that Dr. Kirschbaum may be a skilled physician, this reviewer stated that their experience did not inspire confidence in him for their cardiac care.

These two reviews offer starkly different perspectives on Dr. Kirschbaum's practice. The first highlights his expertise in a complex surgical case and his reassuring communication in a high-stress situation. The second raises concerns about his attentiveness during a routine consultation and his apparent lack of preparation or review of the patient's medical history. These contrasting experiences underscore the importance of considering multiple perspectives when evaluating a healthcare provider.

As a cardiologist listed under the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category, Dr. Paul A. Kirschbaum, MD, likely offers a range of services related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The positive review indicates expertise in pediatric open-heart surgery, suggesting a specialization in congenital heart defects. However, the second review implies that he also sees adult patients with general cardiology concerns, such as mitral valve issues. Therefore, his services may encompass both pediatric and adult cardiology, potentially including:

  • **Diagnosis and management of congenital heart defects:** Including surgical interventions like open-heart surgery.
  • **General cardiology consultations for adults:** Addressing conditions like valvular heart disease (e.g., leaking mitral valve).
  • **Routine cardiac evaluations:** Including physical examinations and potentially ordering diagnostic tests.
  • **Pre- and post-operative care for cardiac surgeries.**

The specific scope of his practice and whether he focuses primarily on pediatric or also includes a significant adult patient population would be best clarified by contacting his office directly.

Based on the available reviews, it is difficult to definitively describe the typical environment of Dr. Kirschbaum's office at 2665 N Decatur Rd #260, Decatur, GA. The positive surgical review focuses on the hospital setting where the surgery was performed and Dr. Kirschbaum's communication with the family. The negative consultation review does not provide any details about the office environment itself. Typically, a cardiologist's office would include waiting areas, examination rooms, and potentially basic diagnostic equipment. The atmosphere would ideally be professional and comfortable for patients discussing sensitive health concerns. However, without more information, a detailed description of Dr. Kirschbaum's office environment cannot be provided.

The features of Dr. Kirschbaum's practice appear to be his surgical skill, particularly in pediatric open-heart surgery, and his ability to offer reassurance to families facing critical medical situations. However, a potential area of concern raised by one reviewer is the attentiveness and preparation during routine consultations. Patients seeking a cardiologist who is both skilled in complex procedures and meticulous in routine office visits may need to weigh these contrasting experiences. His location at 2665 N Decatur Rd #260 offers a local option for those in the Decatur area seeking cardiac care.

Currently, no specific promotional information regarding Dr. Kirschbaum's practice is available in the provided text. Promotional details might include information about specific services being offered, affiliations with particular hospitals or healthcare networks (beyond the mention of surgery being performed on a newborn), or any special programs. To inquire about such information or details related to insurance acceptance and appointment scheduling, interested individuals should contact Dr. Kirschbaum's office directly at (404) 297-9077 or +1 404-297-9077.

For local users in Decatur, GA, searching within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category, the reviews for Dr. Paul A. Kirschbaum, MD, present a mixed picture. His demonstrated expertise in pediatric open-heart surgery and his reassuring communication during a critical time are significant positives. However, the reported lack of attentiveness during a routine consultation and the apparent failure to review patient notes are important concerns to consider. Individuals seeking cardiac care from Dr. Kirschbaum may want to inquire about his specific areas of expertise and his approach to both surgical and routine patient interactions to determine if his practice aligns with their needs and expectations.

In conclusion, Dr. Paul A. Kirschbaum, MD, practicing in Decatur, GA, at 2665 N Decatur Rd #260, is presented as a physician with notable surgical skills in pediatric cardiology, as evidenced by one highly positive review detailing a complex newborn open-heart surgery. However, another review raises concerns about his attentiveness and preparation during a routine adult cardiology consultation. These contrasting experiences highlight the importance of considering all available feedback when choosing a healthcare provider. Local users in Decatur seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should weigh these perspectives and consider contacting Dr. Kirschbaum's office directly to gather more information about his practice and determine if he is the right fit for their cardiovascular care needs.

February 24th my daughter was born on February 26th the amazing Dr Kirshbaum performed my daughter's first of three open heart surgeries. I met him prior to giving birth and even though I was scared he reassured me that my baby would be fine. 8 hours in the operating room i was updated every hour and I'm grateful to have him as the first surgeon my daughter had.

I really don't feel very confident in Dr. Kirschbaum. He hadn't looked at any notes related to my appointment. I told him I had leaking mitral valve. He took my vitals then proceeded to start to explain about doors in heart 🙄 like didn't I just tell you I HAVE LEAKEY VALVE. Also if he had looked at his charts before he'd have seen that 😳 I had visited him previously. He may be a very skilled physician but I've seen nothing to inspire me to open my heart.

Dr. Kirschbaum is an excellent and caring doctor. After visits, you can tell he really listens and wants to do what is best for his patient. Hard to find doctors like him now a days!

Agreed on the previous five (5) star ratings. Dr. Kirschbaum was excellent. He is a perfectionist and really wants to "fix" the patient. The office staff was very knowledgeable and willing to go out of their way to either calm your nerves or provide additional information. Highly recommend.
