Dr. Eric E. Harrison, MD Introduce
For individuals in the Tampa, Florida area seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Dr. Eric E. Harrison, MD, practices at 602 S Audubon Ave # B, Tampa, FL 33609, USA. His office can be contacted by phone at (813) 348-4885, and a mobile phone number is also listed as +1 813-348-4885.
Dr. Harrison's office is located in a medical building in Tampa. One unique aspect of his practice environment, highlighted in a patient review, is the presence of therapy dogs. These dogs reportedly contribute to a calming atmosphere, potentially helping to lower patients' blood pressure while they are in the waiting area. This suggests a patient-centric approach that goes beyond traditional medical care to consider the emotional well-being of individuals visiting the clinic. While other specific details about the office environment are not provided, the mention of therapy dogs indicates a potentially more relaxed and comforting setting compared to typical medical offices.
As a cardiologist, Dr. Harrison specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Based on the positive aspects of the patient reviews, his services likely include:
- Comprehensive cardiac evaluations and consultations, with a focus on understanding the patient's individual circumstances and lifestyle, as suggested by the reviewer who felt Dr. Harrison had a "sense of me & my life" and asked "pertinently personal questions."
- Excellent listening skills, allowing patients to feel heard and understood regarding their health concerns.
- Thorough and attentive care during consultations, ensuring that patients have Dr. Harrison's complete attention once they are seen.
- Management of various cardiovascular conditions, although the specific conditions treated are not detailed in the reviews.
- The potential benefit of an environment designed to reduce patient anxiety through the presence of therapy dogs.
Several features of Dr. Harrison's practice are highlighted in the patient testimonials. One significant positive aspect is his patient-centered approach during consultations. Patients report feeling that Dr. Harrison provides his complete attention and actively listens to their concerns. His ability to ask relevant personal questions suggests a holistic approach to understanding his patients' health within the context of their lives.
Another unique feature is the presence of therapy dogs in the office. This is explicitly mentioned as a benefit that can contribute to lowering patients' blood pressure while they wait, indicating a thoughtful consideration for patient comfort and well-being beyond the purely medical aspects of their visit.
However, a significant concern raised in the reviews pertains to appointment management and wait times. One patient describes the appointment management as "absolutely horrible," stating that wait times are a minimum of two hours and can extend up to four hours. This reviewer, who was writing while waiting for nearly three hours after an initial hour-and-a-half delay for vitals, advises future patients to "pack a lunch and block off an entire day" for their appointment. While this patient acknowledges that Dr. Harrison is a "good doctor" and the staff is "nice," the excessive wait times are presented as a major drawback of the practice.
The conflicting feedback presents a situation where the quality of care received from Dr. Harrison himself appears to be high, with patients feeling heard and understood. However, this positive experience is significantly tempered by the reported extremely long wait times, which are described as a "horrible practice." This suggests a potential issue with scheduling or patient flow management within the office.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Dr. Harrison's practice in the provided reviews. The feedback focuses on the quality of the interaction with the doctor and the unique presence of therapy dogs, contrasted with the significant negative impact of prolonged waiting times.
For local users in Tampa seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me," Dr. Eric E. Harrison offers a practice where patients report receiving attentive and personalized care, with the added benefit of therapy dogs in the waiting area. However, it is crucial to be aware of the significant concerns raised regarding appointment management and potentially very long wait times. Individuals considering Dr. Harrison should factor in the possibility of extended waiting periods when scheduling their appointments.
Prospective patients may want to inquire with the office about their scheduling practices and typical wait times to better prepare for their visit. While the quality of care from Dr. Harrison appears to be a positive aspect of his practice, the reported issues with appointment management could be a significant inconvenience for many individuals seeking timely cardiac care.
In conclusion, Dr. Eric E. Harrison in Tampa is described as a good and attentive cardiologist with a unique offering of therapy dogs in his office. However, potential patients should be aware of the significant negative feedback regarding extremely long wait times for appointments, which could impact their overall experience with the practice. Weighing the reported quality of care against the potential for substantial delays is an important consideration for those seeking a "Heart Doctor Near Me" in the Tampa area.

It may be true that wait time could be seen as an issue; however, once I was with Dr Harrison I knew I had his complete attention & excellent listening skills. I feel he had a sense of me & my life. He asked pertinently personal questions. And the icing on this beautifully well baked cake? He has therapy dogs who also do a magnificent job of lowering your blood pressure while you're there.
Absolutely horrible appointment management. You will wait a minimum of 2 hours and sometimes up to 4 hours to see Dr. Harrison. My advice to you, pack a lunch and block off an entire day for an appointment with Dr. Harrison. Good doctor and nice staff, but having patients wait hours, literally hours, to be seen is a horrible practice. I’m actually writing this as I sit here in the waiting room for nearly 3 hours now; was called back for vitals and things after an hour and a half.
Dr Harrison is incredibly, lovingly intellectually dedicated to helping his patients and the world with his knowledge and never ending curiosity/research. I have know Eric for a few years and whatever the future may bring i will have had the best care possible with Eric “leading the charge”!
