The provided patient reviews offer a mixed perspective on the Cotton O'Neil Heart Center. One patient undergoing surgery praised the doctors and nurses as "very professional, very serious, and attentive" and appreciated the nurses' willingness to listen to their concerns. This positive feedback highlights the dedication and professionalism of the medical staff involved in direct patient care. However, this same reviewer noted a significant issue with the receptionists in every department, describing them as unfriendly and giving disapproving looks when asked questions. This suggests a potential area for improvement in front-office customer service.
In contrast, the second review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the care received during an appointment. The patient reported feeling disregarded, with their concerns seemingly dismissed by the doctor who allegedly did not perform a thorough examination. The patient described the bedside manner as "very disappointing" and left feeling like they had received no answers, stating they would not return. This review raises concerns about the consistency of patient care and the communication and attentiveness of at least one physician at the center.
Given these contrasting reviews, it is important for prospective patients to consider both the positive feedback regarding the professionalism of the medical staff and the negative experiences related to reception services and perceived lack of thoroughness and bedside manner in at least one instance. As with any healthcare facility, individual experiences can vary. It may be beneficial for individuals considering the Cotton O'Neil Heart Center to seek additional reviews or information and to communicate their specific needs and expectations when scheduling appointments and interacting with staff.
In conclusion, the Cotton O'Neil Heart Center in Topeka, KS, offers a comprehensive range of cardiac services within a specialized medical environment. Patients can likely expect access to advanced diagnostic and treatment options, as well as a multidisciplinary team of cardiac specialists. While one patient review praises the professionalism and attentiveness of the doctors and nurses, another expresses significant dissatisfaction with the bedside manner and thoroughness of care received during an appointment, as well as issues with the friendliness of reception staff. Prospective patients should consider these varying perspectives and potentially seek further information to make an informed decision about their cardiac care needs at this facility.

I was referred to this facility for surgery. The doctors and nurses here are very professional, very serious, and attentive in their care, and the nurses always listen to my concerns about my illness. Unfortunately, the receptionists in every department were not friendly at all and gave me a disapproving look when I asked them any questions. Other than that, it's a very nice hospital.
I went in for an appointment with concerns I was having, and felt like I was met with very little disregard. I felt as though my doctor completely dismissed how I was feeling, and didn’t really even bother to do an exam for the concerns I was in for. The bed side manner was very disappointing as I left this appointment feeling like I had gotten no answers whatsoever. I will not be coming back here again.
Great doctors and nurses saved my life twice already restored blood flow in both legs and literaly changed my life I'm so thankful to all of their staff ooo and don't forget their neurologist and spine staff I fell broke my back last year I would give them a rating from 1to10 a 15 for doctors nurse's and entire staff they are the best may they live a long an healthy life
These people do not know how to deal with Tricare! They perform a lot of tests that are not approved by Tricare and then they try to bill you for them and they are very persistent about it. If you have Tricare do not go through them. The provider did a bunch of tests and then told me that she didn't know what was wrong with me! This was at the Manhattan office.
Always helpful and knowledgeable.
