Cardiovascular Medical Associates Introduce

For individuals in Downey, California, seeking cardiovascular care and searching within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" platform category, Cardiovascular Medical Associates, located at 8317 Davis St, Downey, CA 90241, USA, is a local medical practice offering cardiology services. They can be contacted at (562) 359-2087 or via their mobile number at +1 562-359-2087. While the name suggests a focus on comprehensive cardiovascular health, the available patient reviews present significant concerns regarding responsiveness, staff interactions, and the overall patient experience, which prospective users should carefully consider.

Based on the limited environmental details in the reviews, the building housing Cardiovascular Medical Associates is visible from street parking, which may offer convenience depending on parking availability and patient mobility. The reviewer notes that parking can be "okay if there is no big rush but it can be cramped," suggesting potential parking limitations during peak hours. The cardiology group is located on the second floor, and an elevator is available, ensuring accessibility for patients with mobility issues. The restroom in the lobby is reported to be clean. The staff are described as appearing friendly but also overworked, which might contribute to some of the issues raised in the more critical review.

As a practice named Cardiovascular Medical Associates, it is reasonable to expect that they offer a range of services related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart and vascular diseases. These services typically include:

  • Diagnostic Cardiology: Utilizing various tests to assess heart function and identify cardiovascular conditions. These may include:
    • Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG).
    • Echocardiography.
    • Stress Tests (exercise or pharmacological).
    • Holter and Event Monitoring.
    • Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring.
    • Potentially other non-invasive or minimally invasive diagnostic procedures.
  • Clinical Cardiology Services: Providing consultations, physical examinations, and management of various heart conditions, such as:
    • Hypertension (high blood pressure).
    • Hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol).
    • Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) and angina.
    • Heart Failure.
    • Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).
    • Valvular Heart Disease.
    • Preventive cardiology and lifestyle counseling.
  • Medication Management: Prescribing and monitoring medications for cardiovascular conditions.
  • Follow-up Care: Regular appointments to manage chronic heart conditions and adjust treatment plans.
  • Coordination of Care: Working with other specialists as needed.

However, it is important to juxtapose these expected services with the significant negative feedback received from at least one patient.

One detailed review expresses extreme dissatisfaction, stating, "If I could give 0 stars to this place, I would!!" The primary complaint revolves around a lack of responsiveness from medical professionals regarding medication issues that the clinic initially prescribed. The reviewer emphasizes the importance of urgency when dealing with patients with heart conditions and reports a significant lack of it at this practice. The experience described includes being hung up on by a staff member and having to visit the office in person on three separate occasions to secure an appointment due to a failure to return calls. When addressing these issues with the manager, Fatima, the reviewer alleges that the manager became upset with the patient for being upset about the lack of communication. This paints a concerning picture of the administrative and communication processes at Cardiovascular Medical Associates.

Furthermore, the reviews include specific feedback about individual doctors. Dr. Paul Yosino is described as "very rude, arrogant," and "disrespectful," with a "his way or no way" attitude. This is a serious concern for prospective patients who value a respectful and collaborative doctor-patient relationship. In contrast, Dr. Efekari is mentioned as "a bit better," suggesting a potential variability in the patient experience depending on the specific medical professional encountered.

Features of Cardiovascular Medical Associates might typically include a team of cardiologists, nurses, and medical assistants specializing in cardiovascular care. However, the negative reviews raise questions about the effectiveness of their communication, responsiveness, and the interpersonal skills of at least one of their physicians. While the staff are noted as appearing friendly, the comment about them appearing overworked might indicate potential systemic issues affecting patient care and communication.

Promotional information is not provided in the given data. Medical practices often aim to highlight their expertise, advanced technology (if applicable), and patient-centered care. However, in light of the significant negative feedback concerning responsiveness and physician demeanor, any potential promotional claims should be weighed against these reported patient experiences.

In conclusion, while Cardiovascular Medical Associates in Downey, CA, offers cardiology services, the available patient reviews present serious concerns that local users searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" should carefully consider. The reported lack of responsiveness regarding medication issues, the alleged unprofessional behavior of one of the doctors, and the difficulties in communication and appointment scheduling are significant red flags. Despite a clean lobby restroom and seemingly friendly (though possibly overworked) staff, the core issues of patient communication, responsiveness to medical concerns, and physician conduct appear to be major drawbacks based on the provided feedback. Prospective patients are strongly advised to weigh these negative experiences heavily and potentially seek alternative cardiovascular care providers in the Downey area to ensure they receive timely, respectful, and effective medical attention.

Avoid Dr Paul Yosino very rude, arrogant man. Disrespectful and there is his way or no way. Dr Efekari a bit better. Building visible from street parking is okay if there is no big rush but it can be cramped. There is an elevator the cardio group is in the second floor. Restroom is clean in the lobby, staff appear friendly but appear overworked.

Always great service, always accommodating. Sometimes my job unavoidably delays me and i arrive 5 or 10 minutes late to my appt and they are always understanding. No complaints and very short wait times. Dr. Tamboli is awesome. He pushes me for better health but with great tact and no demeaning tones. I hope you never need a Cardiologist but if you do This center is your best bet.
