Cardiology - Heart Institute at Metro Pkwy Introduce
For individuals in Fort Myers, Florida, and the surrounding areas seeking specialized cardiovascular care, the Cardiology services offered by the Heart Institute at Metro Pkwy, located at 13340 Metro Pkwy Ste 200, represent a potential option within the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category. As part of the Lee Health system, the Heart Institute aims to provide a range of cardiac services to address the heart health needs of the local community. This specific location on Metro Parkway offers a point of access for patients seeking cardiology consultations, diagnostic testing, and treatment.
Being part of the Lee Health network, the Heart Institute at Metro Pkwy likely adheres to the standards and protocols of a large healthcare system. The environment of the clinic would typically include a reception and waiting area for patients, private consultation rooms where cardiologists can meet with patients to discuss their conditions and treatment plans, and potentially rooms equipped for basic cardiac testing, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs). As part of a larger institute, there may also be access to more advanced diagnostic equipment and procedural facilities within the broader Lee Health system, although not necessarily within this specific office. Patients can generally expect a professional medical office environment focused on providing cardiac care.
The services offered by the Cardiology division of the Heart Institute at Metro Pkwy would typically encompass a range of essential aspects of cardiovascular healthcare. These may include:
- Clinical consultations with cardiologists specializing in various aspects of heart disease.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), Holter monitors (as mentioned in one review), echocardiograms, and stress tests.
- Development of treatment plans for a variety of cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hypertension.
- Management of cardiovascular medications.
- Lifestyle counseling and education related to heart health.
- Coordination of care with other specialists within the Lee Health system, such as interventional cardiologists or cardiac surgeons, when more advanced procedures are required.
- Follow-up care for patients with established cardiac conditions.
As part of the Lee Health Heart Institute, this location benefits from being integrated into a larger network known for its cardiovascular services in Southwest Florida. This affiliation suggests access to a comprehensive range of cardiac expertise and resources within the system. The "Heart Institute" designation implies a focus on specialized cardiac care and a team approach to managing complex heart conditions. Patients may also benefit from the potential for seamless referrals and access to advanced cardiac procedures within the Lee Health network if needed.
The two patient reviews available online offer critical perspectives on the patient experience at this location. One review describes a significant delay in receiving a 48-hour heart monitor appointment, citing issues with assigning a name to the device and claiming it was the only one available. The reviewer expresses strong dissatisfaction and recommends avoiding Lee Health altogether based on this experience. This review raises concerns about the efficiency of scheduling and the availability of necessary diagnostic equipment at this specific clinic.
The second review raises a serious concern regarding billing practices, alleging "terrible deceptive" behavior related to undisclosed "astronomical facility fees" for routine office visits. The reviewer warns of unexpectedly high charges, potentially in the hundreds or thousands of dollars for short appointments. This feedback suggests a lack of transparency in billing and the potential for significant unexpected costs for patients seeking care at this facility. This is a critical issue for local users to be aware of when considering this provider for their cardiac care.
Given the negative nature of the limited available reviews, it is challenging to ascertain a positive aspect to highlight. The feedback focuses on significant issues related to appointment scheduling, equipment availability, and, most notably, potentially deceptive billing practices. These concerns could significantly impact a patient's overall experience and the affordability of care at this location.
Currently, there is no promotional information available online specifically for the Cardiology - Heart Institute at Metro Pkwy. Given the serious nature of the complaints in the patient reviews, it is possible that Lee Health may need to address these issues to maintain a positive reputation and ensure patient satisfaction. For local users searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," the lack of positive feedback and the serious allegations in the available reviews should be carefully considered.
For individuals in need of cardiovascular care in Fort Myers, the Cardiology - Heart Institute at Metro Pkwy, located at 13340 Metro Pkwy Ste 200, can be contacted at (239) 343-0550 or +1 239-343-0550. However, prospective patients should be aware of the concerns raised in the recent patient reviews regarding appointment delays, equipment availability, and undisclosed facility fees. It may be prudent to inquire specifically about potential facility fees and billing practices prior to scheduling appointments or receiving care at this location. Considering the negative feedback, local users may want to explore other options for cardiac care in the Fort Myers area to ensure a positive and transparent healthcare experience.

Have a 9am appointment for a 48 hour heart monitor and it's 9:40. They are having an issue assigning a name to the monitor and claim this is the only one they have. Lee Health should be avoided at all costs.
Terrible deceptive group will hit you with astronomical facility fees that are not disclosed prior to office visits. Expect hundreds if not thousands for routine 10 min office visits.
I deliver here to this building once a week and the staff is awesome. On the 3rd floor cardiology Dept the receptionist is always so pleasant.
