Information regarding the specific environment and facilities of the Cardiac & Vascular Clinic in Oakland, MD, is limited based on the provided data. However, as a medical clinic, it likely offers examination rooms for patient consultations, diagnostic areas for preliminary assessments, and administrative spaces for patient registration and record-keeping. The clinic's presence in Oakland suggests it serves as a local healthcare provider for cardiac and vascular needs in a potentially rural setting. The staff would likely include medical professionals specializing in cardiology and vascular care, as well as administrative personnel.

The Cardiac & Vascular Clinic likely offers a range of services focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. While a comprehensive list of services is not provided, based on the clinic's name, it likely includes:

Cardiology Services: This would typically involve the diagnosis and management of heart-related conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), coronary artery disease (angina, heart attacks), heart failure, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), and valvular heart disease. Services may include electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress testing, and potentially Holter monitoring.

Vascular Services: This would focus on conditions affecting the blood vessels outside of the heart, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins, and carotid artery disease. Services may include vascular ultrasounds and other non-invasive diagnostic tests.

Consultations and Evaluations: Providing expert medical advice and assessments for patients with cardiac and vascular concerns.

Preventive Care: Offering guidance on lifestyle modifications and risk factor management to prevent the development or progression of heart and vascular diseases.

Referrals: When necessary, the clinic would likely facilitate referrals to larger medical centers or specialists for more complex procedures or treatments that cannot be performed on-site.

The provided patient reviews paint a concerning picture of the administrative and potentially patient care aspects of the Cardiac & Vascular Clinic. Key issues raised by the reviewers include:

Severe Difficulties with Referrals and Record Release: One patient described an "absolutely horrible experience" involving a month-long struggle to obtain a referral and have medical records released for a second opinion. The patient ultimately had to involve their primary care physician's office to accomplish this, suggesting significant administrative barriers within the Cardiac & Vascular Clinic.

Accusation of Preventing Access to Care: The same reviewer accused the clinic of "literally refus to release my records preventing me from going somewhere else for my care," labeling this as "criminally negligent and out of line with the hippocratic oath." This is a serious accusation indicating a potential breach of ethical and professional standards.

Rudeness and Unprofessionalism from Staff: Another reviewer specifically mentioned a staff member named Karen who was described as "rude" and hung up on the patient. This suggests a lack of professionalism in patient communication.

Excessive Delays in Appointment Scheduling: The same reviewer reported a three-week delay in receiving a call after a referral was made, followed by a further three-week wait for an actual appointment. This indicates significant delays in accessing care at the clinic.

Negative Impact on Local Healthcare Perception: The reviewer concluded by stating, "Unfortunate for a small town," suggesting that these negative experiences reflect poorly on the local healthcare options.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for the Cardiac & Vascular Clinic based on the provided data. The absence of any positive feedback or information about specific initiatives or benefits for patients makes it challenging to highlight any positive features beyond the clinic's stated focus on cardiac and vascular care in a geographically accessible location for the Oakland, MD, community.

For individuals in Oakland, MD, and surrounding areas searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" or vascular services, the Cardiac & Vascular Clinic at 13079 Garrett Hwy is a local option. However, the severely negative patient reviews regarding administrative hurdles, alleged obstruction of access to care, staff rudeness, and significant appointment delays should be carefully considered. These experiences raise serious concerns about the clinic's operational efficiency and patient-centeredness. While the clinic's stated purpose is to provide cardiac and vascular care, prospective patients should be aware of these reported issues. It would be prudent to seek further information, potentially from other local healthcare providers or through additional research, before making a decision about seeking care at this clinic. The negative experiences highlight the importance of efficient and respectful administrative processes in healthcare, alongside competent medical care.

Absolutely horrible experience. After a month attempting to get a referral and records released, to get an opinion from a secod cardiologist, I finally contacted my primary care physician's office who accomplished what needed done the same day. They literally refused to release my records preventing me from going somewhere else for my care. Criminally negligent and out of line with the hippocratic oath.

Karen from the office was rude and hung up on me. She had a major attitude when I ask questions. Not only did it take 3 weeks for them to call after the got the referral from my doctor they then wanted to set appointment for other 3 weeks out. Will drive to Morgantown. Unfortunate for a small town.
