Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center Introduce

For individuals in Brandon, Florida, and the surrounding areas seeking cardiovascular or vascular care, the platform category "Heart Doctor Near Me" presents Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center, located at 511 Medical Oaks Ave, Brandon, FL 33511, USA. Choosing a healthcare provider is an important decision, and understanding the experiences of other patients can offer valuable insights. The available reviews for Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center present significant concerns regarding appointment management, communication, and billing practices.

One patient recounts a particularly negative experience involving a cancelled appointment. This individual scheduled a 3 pm appointment, taking time off work to attend. Upon arrival, they were informed that their appointment had been cancelled the previous day, allegedly due to it being a follow-up for an echocardiogram that had been delayed for four months. The patient, who had undergone bypass surgery four years prior, expressed concern about the lack of routine exams and stated they were not notified of the cancellation as claimed by the office. The reviewer felt that the office staff showed a lack of care and disregard for their time, ultimately leading to a strong recommendation against the practice.

Another review details issues encountered during an initial consultation for chest pain. This patient was informed by Dr. Gandhi that necessary diagnostic tests would need to be scheduled separately due to insurance payment concerns, potentially incurring multiple co-pays. Upon verifying with their insurance company, the patient learned that these tests could likely have been conducted in one or two visits. When the patient contacted the office manager, Faye, for clarification, they were told that it was office policy to schedule tests separately based on assumptions about insurance coverage, and the patient would be charged a co-pay for each visit. The reviewer found this policy unacceptable, perceiving it as a way for the office to generate more revenue at the expense of patient convenience and potentially their health. This negative experience led the patient to cancel further appointments and advise others against seeking care at this office, citing concerns about prioritizing financial gain over patient well-being.

Based on these two detailed accounts, the environment and features of Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center appear to be areas of significant concern for these patients. The first review suggests potential issues with appointment scheduling, communication regarding cancellations, and a perceived lack of empathy for patients' time and health needs. The second review raises serious questions about the office's billing practices and whether they prioritize maximizing patient co-pays over efficient and patient-friendly scheduling of necessary diagnostic tests.

The services offered by Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center would typically include a range of cardiac and vascular care, although the negative reviews do not provide specific details about the quality or scope of these services. Generally, a cardiology and vascular center would offer services such as:

  • Cardiac Consultations and Evaluations: Assessment of heart-related symptoms, medical history, and risk factors.
  • Vascular Consultations and Evaluations: Assessment of blood vessel-related symptoms and risk factors.
  • Diagnostic Testing for Cardiac Conditions: Procedures like electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and potentially cardiac catheterization.
  • Diagnostic Testing for Vascular Conditions: Procedures like ultrasounds, angiograms, and other imaging studies to assess blood vessel health.
  • Medical Management of Cardiac Conditions: Treatment of conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hypertension.
  • Medical Management of Vascular Conditions: Treatment of conditions such as peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease, and venous disorders.
  • Preventive Cardiology and Vascular Care: Strategies to reduce the risk of developing heart and blood vessel diseases.

However, the negative experiences reported raise concerns about the accessibility and patient-centeredness of these services at Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center. The alleged cancellation without proper notification and the policy of scheduling tests separately for billing purposes could significantly impact a patient's ability to receive timely and coordinated care.

For local users in Brandon searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" or a vascular specialist, the available reviews for Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center present significant red flags. Both reviewers express strong dissatisfaction with the practice's administrative policies and communication, raising concerns about patient care and billing practices. Potential patients should carefully consider these experiences when making their decision.

Given the serious nature of the issues raised in the patient reviews, it would be prudent for individuals considering Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center to seek further information and potentially explore alternative providers in the area. Contacting the office directly to inquire about their policies on appointment scheduling, cancellations, and billing for diagnostic tests might provide additional clarity. However, the negative feedback suggests a need for caution and thorough consideration before choosing this practice for cardiovascular or vascular care.

When searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me" or a vascular specialist, it is essential to find a provider that not only offers comprehensive medical services but also prioritizes clear communication, respects patients' time, and adheres to ethical billing practices. The experiences shared by these reviewers indicate potential shortcomings in these critical areas at Brandon Cardiology & Vascular Center, warranting careful consideration by prospective patients in the Brandon, Florida area.

I have been a continuous patient of this practice for over 25 years and in that time I have come to think of the staff as part of my family. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff or the doctors. In particular, Dr. Saba Thangam has done an outstanding job keeping me alive. Since 2001 I have suffered 10 heart attacks, and he has been with me every step of the way, day or night, weekends or holidays. If you are in need of cardiac care, I cannot strongly enough recommend this practice.

I am a heart patient with 2 stents. I met Dr. Adithya Gandhi and presented with my history of heart problems and expressed my concerns. Dr. Gandhi listened patiently to the issues I raised, conducted appropriate tests and explained the results. He does not beat around the bushes, and he is thorough and up to the point. I have been to few other cardiologists and one even said that I am getting old and I will have the problems that I am complaining about. I said him good-bye.
