Located at 2500 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952, AdventHealth Port Charlotte is a full-service hospital equipped to address a wide range of medical needs, including comprehensive cardiac care.
While specific details about the hospital's overall environment are best gleaned through a visit or further online exploration, patient reviews offer valuable insights. One reviewer specifically appreciated "the atmosphere of a small hospital," suggesting a potentially more intimate and perhaps less overwhelming experience compared to larger medical centers. This can be a significant factor for patients and their families seeking a more personal touch during their healthcare journey.
AdventHealth Port Charlotte provides a wide array of medical services, and within the context of "Heart Doctor Near Me," their cardiology department is a crucial component. While the provided information doesn't detail specific cardiologists by name within the hospital, it's reasonable to infer that a full-service hospital like AdventHealth Port Charlotte would have a team of qualified cardiologists and cardiac specialists to diagnose and treat various heart conditions. These specialists would be integral to providing the services sought by users searching under the "Heart Doctor Near Me" category.
Based on the general services expected from a comprehensive hospital and inferences drawn from the reviews, the cardiac-related services likely offered at AdventHealth Port Charlotte include:
- Cardiac Consultations and Evaluations: Appointments with cardiologists to discuss heart health concerns, review medical history, and conduct physical examinations.
- Diagnostic Cardiac Testing: Access to a range of tests to assess heart function, including electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter and event monitors, and potentially more advanced imaging like cardiac CT and MRI.
- Interventional Cardiology Procedures: Depending on the hospital's capabilities, these may include procedures like cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and stenting for blocked arteries, and potentially the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators.
- Electrophysiology Services: Diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), which might include procedures like catheter ablation.
- Cardiac Rehabilitation: Supervised exercise and education programs to help patients recover after a cardiac event or procedure and improve their long-term heart health.
- Emergency Cardiac Care: As a full-service hospital, AdventHealth Port Charlotte would undoubtedly have an emergency department equipped to handle acute cardiac events like heart attacks and unstable angina.
- Inpatient Cardiac Care: For patients requiring hospitalization for heart conditions, the hospital provides comprehensive medical and nursing care.
The positive feedback regarding the nursing staff is particularly noteworthy. One reviewer described them as "friendly and helpful," which is essential for a positive patient experience, especially during vulnerable times. Compassionate and attentive nursing care can significantly contribute to a patient's comfort and recovery.
Furthermore, the reviewer highlighted the positive interactions with the anesthesiologist and their department, noting their thoroughness in asking important questions and explaining the sedation process. This level of communication and patient education is crucial in alleviating anxiety and ensuring patients feel informed and involved in their care. Similarly, the surgeon's proactive communication to reiterate the surgical plan demonstrates a commitment to patient understanding and comfort.
The mention of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the exceptional care provided by a staff member named Christina is particularly relevant. The reviewer shared, "Christina in ICU was great! She made our grandmother/mother feel as comfortable as possible during her end of life journey. She communicated effectively through the entire process. She made a hard situation just a little easier. We are so grateful for her." This powerful testimonial speaks volumes about the compassionate and skilled care provided in critical situations within the hospital's ICU, which often includes patients with severe cardiac conditions.
One area for potential improvement mentioned in the review is the age and layout of the facility. The reviewer noted that "this hospital is old and really needs to be renovated and upgraded with a better organized layout." While this doesn't detract from the quality of care provided by the staff, it is an objective observation about the physical environment. Patients seeking a modern and state-of-the-art facility might consider this aspect. However, the positive experiences with the medical and nursing staff suggest that the quality of care remains a priority despite the physical infrastructure.
While specific promotional information or current campaigns are not provided in the text, the positive patient testimonials serve as a strong form of endorsement. The willingness of a patient to explicitly state that their surgical experience at AdventHealth Port Charlotte was "better than I have had at a previous surgery at another hospital" is a significant positive reflection on the hospital's services and staff.
For local users searching for a "Heart Doctor Near Me," AdventHealth Port Charlotte offers a hospital setting with likely access to a range of cardiac specialists and services. The positive feedback regarding the compassionate nursing care, thoroughness of the anesthesia department, and clear communication from surgeons, along with the exceptional care provided in the ICU, suggests a patient-focused approach. While the facility might have areas needing upgrades, the quality of medical care and the dedication of the staff appear to be highly valued by patients.

Christina in ICU was great! She made our grandmother/mother feel as comfortable as possible during her end of life journey. She communicated effectively through the entire process. She made a hard situation just a little easier. We are so grateful for her.
My Emergency room experience was very good. Michael at the check-in was professional and efficient. Nurse Kim was excellent, friendly and answered all my questions. Dr. O'Leary was wonderful as well. Very professional and caring. Explained my situation clearly, and his treatment was excellent. Marlene, the gentleman who did my CT scan and the discharge nurse all projected a professional, caring and compassionate attitude.
I’m making this review regarding my mother who had open heart surgery and did her recovery here. She had a wonderful experience there. She stated that all of the staff was very pleasant and really pushed her for a smooth and healthy recovery. She constantly thinks about the team that assisted her and wanted to personally shout out Jennine, Marie, and Teresa. These ladies took extra time to give her tender love and care. We thank you so much!
5 stars for the nurses on the second floor. Vanessa, Robert Smith, Victoria, the nursing list goes on. I'm very grateful for the care they gave me. In a nut shell they were great. I'll never forget them. 4 Stars for the food. It was adequate, and better than other hospitals I've been in. 3 stars for the noise at night when sleep is needed to get well.
